Chapter 5

I park outside of the school and wait for school to end. I didn't have anything else to do so I just came strait here. I turn the radio up and just sat there. I watch as the bell goes and people start flooding out the front doors.

Luke jumps into the passenger seat and I go to turn the music down but he shakes his head. as I drive over to his place we just rock out to the music.

"Calum's coming over soon you should stay"

"Yeah, okay, your blazer is in the backseat" we get out of the car and he opens the back doors of the car to collect his blazer.

"Luke! Put your dirty clothes in the laundry!" I hear a women call then she walks into the room "oh hello, I'm Luke's mum, liz" she say politely smiling at me.

"Ashton" I say smiling back.

"Oh, so your the amazing new drummer that joined the band"

I laugh a bit "guess so"

"Yeah well we are going now, Calum will be here soon" he drags me out of the room.

"Don't forget your laundry!" She called out. Luke sighs and I laugh.

"You play FIFA?" He asks

"No" I answer quickly hoping he doesn't say anything about it.

"What?!? Why the hell not?!?" He shouts like I just committed a crime.

"I just don't..." I say slowly

"Your playing and you don't have a choice!" He crosses his arms.

"I can't, I need my glasses, the green confuses me!" I complain.

"You wear glasses?" I nod "one game won't hurt, please?" He drops his lower lip.

"Fine" I sigh and he tosses me a controller grinning at me. what have I gotten myself into?

"You really suck at this, if I knew you didn't play FIFA before you joined the band I wouldn't of given you a second look" he chuckled. wow he really likes FIFA.

"Wow your getting smashed Ash!" Calum yelled as he walked into the room and I groaned. "Luke, your mum says to remind you about your laundry"

"Calum, can you take over" I groan

"Okay, but there's no saving your team" he laughs. I turn around and see that he has a black eye!

"Calum! your face! I'm so sorry" I feel so bad. Calum just laughs.

"It's perfectly fine, I think it makes me look manly" he say flexing his non existent muscles and Luke just roles his eyes.

"Just take the controller" Luke groans.
My phone starts to ring and the guys pause the game and stare at me. Michael. "hello"

"It's raining and I don't wanna walk!" He shouts into the phone so loud I have to pull it away from my ear.

"And what do you want me to do about that?"

"Pick me up? please!" he asks and I laugh.

"I don't know, I'm having so much fun with FIFA" I say sarcastically and Luke and Calum look at each other with grins on their faces.

"Your playing FIFA without me!!!" Michael yells and I laugh. what is it with these guys and FIFA! "please????"

"Sure, I'll come get ya" I chuckle. I hang up the phone "off to get Michael" I tell them.

"Bring him back here with ya" Calum says

"I actually better get home, I will drop michael off though"

"Don't leave us!" The both shout pretending to cry.

"You guys warm my heart" I say and walk out of the room. I say goodbye to liz before walking out the front door.

I get to school... again and Michael's waiting under the shaded area. he doesn't move when I stop. had he been crying? I wonder what happened, he seemed fine on the phone.

I get out of the car and ran over to him as quickly ask could trying not to get too wet. "are you okay?" I ask sitting down next to him he shook his head "what happened?"

"I just had a fight with my mum, I don't want to go home" he said sniffling .
"Luke and Cal wanted me to drop you off at Luke's. you could go there?"

"No, no" he says shaking his head "can I stay at yours?" He asks I nod my head not really sure if my mum would allow him to stay on a school night. "thank you".

We run over to the car quickly. "so, what was the fight about?" I ask when we get in the car not actually sure he would tell me.

"my parents are splitting up and mum wants me to move away with her but I want to stay." I nod "please don't be one of those people who ask if I want to talk about it and try's to give me advice that doesn't work, I just want to keep my mind off of things"

"I get that, not wanting to talk, so what you wanna do?" He shrugs and we both laugh.

We walk in my front door and my mums sitting on the couch "hey mum, is it okay if Michael stays? He had a bit if a bad fight with his mum" I say and I was surprised that she just nodded.

"Nice to meet you Michael, don't stay up too late okay boys" and we both nod as he follows me upstairs to my room.

"Dibs the side next to the wall" he says as soon as he see's my double bed. I don't really mind what side he takes. I sleep on a different side every night. "do you have done clothes I could borrow? School uniform isn't really comfortable to sleep in"

"Sure grab what ya need" I say and he grabs some clothes and starts to change.

I take off my jumper and Michael looks at me "your arm!" He shouts and ui Shoosh him "does anyone else know?" He asks quietly.

"Luke does, this is one if those things I don't want to talk about"

"But mate, mines a thing with my parents, this could be dangerous" he says looking me right in the eyes "this could kill you" I can tell he is worried.

"I know" I say flatly.

"You have Luke, Calum and me now and as you saw today we are there for you" I know what he's saying is true "Calum got suspended by protecting you, his mate, he'd probably do it again" at this point my eyes are watery. I cry way too much but Luke's voice goes through my head "it's okay to cry".

He gives me a hug. "You don't have to go through this alone" he sternly says and I nod.
