Chapter 13

Michael had gotten off easy. yes he was expelled but he got off easy in court with community service. he had put the guy in hospital so we knew he wasn't going to get off with nothing.

This meant Michael had to change schools and since I had mentioned going back to school mum thought it was a good idea that instead of me going back to my old school that I go to the same as Michael. This way we can look out for each other.

It will feel weird though. Calum and Luke going one place and Michael and I going to another. it's like our band is split in two.

Although I'm still living with Luke. Liz says we can stay as long as we like but mum still doesn't want to overstay our welcome do she applied for that house she was talking about before.

"Ashton, we have to go now if we want to make it in time" mum said quickly grabbing her bag. we have an appointment with the principle of this new school. I'm actually really nervous and if one more person tells me it's okay I'm going to scream.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming" I say walking down the stairs.

"Good luck!" Liz call from the living room. and I thank her then quickly follow mum out of the house.

This school seemed a lot smaller and more crowded. Also the uniform wasn't as formal.

We were greeted by a tall women with brown hair put up in a bun. I'm guessing she was the principle. she seemed a lot nicer than the principle at the other school. she smiled more giving her a more friendly look.

"Ashton! I got in!" Michael's yells on the other end of the phone causing me to pull the phone away from my ear a bit.

"That's amazing! So did I!" I was so happy I didn't have to end up going alone.

"Will you be quiet, Ashton!" Luke yells covering his face with his pillow. Michael has a habit of calling people late at night. including Luke.

"Sorry" I say laughing a bit.

Luke has a black eye that he's had for ages but it's slowly fading. we tell him that he should enjoy it while it lasts because it's his first "battle wound".

"Just hang up!" Luke says from underneath the pillow.

"No way, this is payback for all the late night calls with Vanessa" I say still laughing and now I can hear Michael laughing on the phone too. Luke groans and rolls over.

"I should go for your own safety, ash, everyone knows Luke isn't a morning person" he says laughing even harder.

"Hey! I heard that" like yells.

"Okay, bye Mikey" I say in a girly voice and hang up. I then hear Luke sigh with relief.

He rolls over unexpectedly and faces me. "it's gonna be weird without Michael" he says. "it was bad enough getting use to school without you again"

"We can still carpool" I say trying to cheer him up.

"But it's not the same" he sighs again "just promise that you will take care of each other and don't ditch us for some other guys in a band"

"There is no way I would ditch you and cal, there is no replacing my brothers" I say and I can barely see the smile on his face through the darkness but I know it's there. "you promise me that you won't get yourself killed by getting into fights all the time" that comment had us both laughing.

"Night ash" he said sleepily.

"Night lucifer" I replied and Luke whacked me on the arm.
