Chapter 47

It's the big day. My aunt Bella is gonna stay with Noah at home while we're in court. "How you feeling honey?" Aunt Bella asked as she takes Noah into her hands. "I'm nervous, but I have some faith." She kisses my forehead and I head to New York Country Supreme Court. Right before I get out of the taxi, I see Elizabeth, Michael, Adam, and Charles make there way inside, pushing to get through all the press in front of the building.

I get out of the taxi and take a deep breath in and let it out. Ella was already inside waiting for me so that we could go over things. I stood there looking at the building, until I saw the press coming my way, so I decided to go in.

When I walk in, I take the elevator up to the floor I needed to be on. I felt sick to my stomach, from the moving elevator and the thought of court, but I knew that I was doing what's right for Noah. When the elevator opened, I got out and looked to my right. I saw Michael, Elizabeth, Adam, and Charles on the side talking. Charles and I made eye contact but he looked away when Elizabeth pulled him closer to her. I just wanted to punch her in the face but I knew I couldn't do that. I shook my head and looked to my left to see Zoe, Scar, Finn, Daisy, Williams, and Ella. "Hey." I said quickly.

"How you feeling sis?" Williams asked. "Nervous but I'll do fine." I give them a warm smile. Behind us, the elevator door opened and Leroy walked out. I thought that he was here for me until he walked over to Elizabeth. Shit, I thought to myself. I guess he's taking her side. Not that it's a big deal to me, I don't like him anyway. "Ella, who else is taking the stand?" I asked. "You, Charles, Michael, Adam, and Leroy." My heart sinked. "But you got this, we got this. We're going in at any minute so you need to be ready alright?!" She said.

"Yeah, I'm just finna go to the restroom real quick." She nods and I leave. I go inside and just look at myself in the mirror. I think about Noah and everything I'm about to do when the door opens, and guess who walks in, Elizabeth. "Hope you're ready." She announced. "Because I'm Charles's lawyer." I felt sick again but I didn't show fear to her. "Go to hell Elizabeth." With that, I walked out and she does too a few minutes later.

A couple of minutes later, we're taking the stand. Finn was the first testify. "So Mr. Foster, how long have you known Mrs. Blake?" Ella asked as she stood next to the jury box. "We met when we were in the base, back in 2013. We were both new."He cuts it short. "What did you think of her?" Ella added. "I thought she was cool. I mean there's not a lot of women in the army so when I saw her, I thought it was brave that she joined." Finn continued. "How was Mrs. Blake with others?" She went on. "She was helpful, I mean she has a big heart. And she loves taking care of others. That's the Blake that I know." Ella nodded her head and made her way back to our table to sit down.
"No further questions your honor."

"Mrs. Calvin, do you have any questions for this witness?" The judge stated. "Yes your honor I do." Elizabeth stands up and walks towards Finn.
"Let me ask you this Mr. Foster, do you or do you not have sexual feelings for Mrs.Blake?" What the heck? Why would she ask that? "Objection your honor, relevance?" Ella stood up quickly. "Mrs. Calvin, if you can't ask relevant questions then I suggest you move on." The judge says.
Elizabeth smiles and tunes to face me.
" Then I guess I don't have any questions for this witness." It looked like she was enjoying this.

"Mrs. Calvin, you can bring out your next witness." The judge maintained. "Thank you your honor, my next witness is Michael Calvin." I didn't know why he was even taking the stand but I guess she's really out here to get me.

"Mr. Calvin, can you please tell me your relationship, with Mrs. Blake?" How this was relevant? I didn't know. It took him a minute to answer her question and he had a look of sorrow on his face when he did.
"We met when I moved to her high school in 11th grade." He didn't go into full details.
"Did you or did you not date Mrs. Blake when you were children?" I guess Ella didn't mind that question because she didn't object this time.
"Yes. Yes we did." She walks over to the jury box and asks the rest of her questions while leaning on their banister.

"Did you and Mrs. Blake ever get...... intimate?"
"Objection! Relevancy?" Ella said. I guess Ella didn't like that question. The judge sighs.
"Mrs.Calvin, how many times do I have to tell you to keep your questions relevant to the case. What is your point?"
"I'm getting there your honor." She says. He looks at her then at Ella and nods his head.
"This better be good. Answer the question Mr. Calvin." The judge said.
"Yes. Yes we did."
"So how did you feel when she had your brother's child? Noah." He took a minute and looked at Charles.
"I felt happy for my brother but....... I also felt sad."
"Why?" She challenged.
"Because........ I really don't know to be honest. I just felt bad but now I'm happy that Charles has a son."
"Okay Mr. Calvin, one last question.." she turned to look at me when she said it.
"....Did you know that Natalie got pregnant when she was a dating you?" Shit, Michael doesn't need to know about that, not now.
