Uploaded: 25/08/19Pretending to wake up prior to being asleep in your own bed the whole night was one of the best performances you've ever portrayed...no one suspected a thing, you were quite the actress really. You yawned, groaning with heavy lidded eyes as you sat up in bed, outstretching your arms. The girls in your dormitory got on with their morning, getting themselves ready for the start of the new school day ahead. You smirked to yourself, knowing that you managed to be so nonchalant about the whole thing. Of course they didn't speak to you, not even a simple 'good morning', but that was usual and you were more than happy with that. No questions were asked, they clearly didn't have a clue, you felt as if you'd just got away with murder or a high profile heist or something.
Joining the rest of the school in the great hall for breakfast was another story... You found yourself constantly looking up to the high table at the empty spot as to where Snape usually sits. His absence caused you to worry, you hoped Madame Pomfrey had delivered the medical supplies to Snape in time for him to be able to teach today, you really couldn't endure double potions class today with some lousy, undertrained fogey of a substitute teacher. You ate your omelette, keeping yourself to yourself as usual until a familiar Gryffindor sat down beside you.
"Hi, sorry I hope you don't mind me sitting here." Harry weakly smiled.
"Not at all, the seat is all yours." You say, smiling back. You noticed the other Gryffindors began to look over at you with questionable expressions on their faces, as if to say 'why the hell did Harry Potter choose to sit with that freak.'
"Not being rude or anything but why aren't you sitting with your friends Harry?" You ask hoping you didn't sound too cold, you put your fork down; awaiting an explanation, awkwardly tucking your hair behind your ear.
"I just wanted to sit next to someone else for a while...you know, get to know you a little more." He didn't sound very convincing, you knew far too well the way people sounded when they were lying. You raised an eyebrow at him. He looked back at you with a knowing look. "Okay okay, I just er...wondered why you spent the entire night in Professor Snape's office." He quickly blurted out, he kept his voice quiet so that the others didn't hear what he said. Fred and George, frowned and leaned in closer; clearly trying to earwig.

"Oh." You looked away from Harry, focusing on the food in front of you whilst playing with the moonstone ring on your index finger. "Well...this is all a bit embarrassing but err...well I've been falling behind in Potions so Professor Snape has been giving me extra tutoring classes. Look er- I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about it, I wouldn't want people to get the wrong idea, it's purely educational you see! I understand that it might have looked well- a certain way but it really isn't like that Harry." You still can't make eye contact with him, your fingers begin to turn red as you roughly twist them out of awkwardness.
"Ohhh right. I'm glad that's cleared up. Don't worry (y/n) I believe you." He smiled, his emerald green eyes twinkling. "I just thought I'd ask just in case you were in some kind of trouble, after all I seem to be a regular too in Professor Snape's office." Potter smirked, his green eyes looking at you through his round spectacles.
"How'd you know I was there all night anyways?" You ask, nudging his arm lightly, trying to turn the awkwardness onto him.
"Harry, you coming to quidditch practice?" Ron Weasley shouted across the table, still chewing on his fried crispy bacon.
Hermione looked at him with a face of pure disgust. "Do you ever stop eating Ronald?"
Harry nods at Ron, standing up quickly. "Sorry (y/n), I've gotta go." He says before hurrying off with his red haired buddy, who was now munching on a chicken drumstick.
