"Why are we here?" You asked sharply.
Snape looked at you with a hint of what you sensed as fear. He took his time to reply as he shut the door behind the two of you.
"You have no recollection of what I have already told you Miss White." The tall Professor reached for your arm in a rather hasty manner.
"I'm sorry, what are you talking about!?" You ask, frowning as Snape leads you further into Dumbledore's office.
"I had to do it you see... you just weren't ready for the truth, I-" Snape faltered, he let go of your arm, his eyes shifted to his wand in which he held in his hand. "I obliviated you."
You stood in silence. Snape was right, you had no recollection of him telling you anything important, and you certainly couldn't remember being obliviated.
"The other night... when I was brewing the felix felicis. Was that when-"
"Yes."
That night, you remembered feeling strange-as if time had been stolen from you... it all made sense now.
"So you already told me about my mum and dad?"
Snape nodded, still not looking at you.
"I think this time it will be better if I just show you...that way you might believe me."
With a flourish of his wand, a stone basin rose from the side of where you both stood. It was scribed on its exterior with runes and strange symbols you couldn't decipher.
(y/n) {if only I had taken ancient runes classes...}
You moved closer, looking into the basin, you could see a glimmering abyss of silvery-blue liquid. It was truly quite mesmerising.
"This, is a Pensieve. It's used to review memories Miss White. The headmaster and I have collected samples of our own, including ones of your mother and father."
You watched Snape turn towards a rotating cabinet full of glass vials, enscribed with different names and titles. Snape reached towards one which read; "for (y/n)." Snape turned back towards you holding the vial of memories, his eyes now finding the courage to meet yours.
"For what you are about to see...I'm sorry." His voice slightly weak, the apology trailing off into a whisper.
You take the vial from him, his hand feels cold as you brush your fingers against his. He holds onto your hand, you feel your heart rate begin to quicken.
"I'll still be here with you." He says, letting go of your hand. Snape backs away from the Pensieve. You stay silent, Snape's presence making you feel a little more at ease. You liked this side of Snape, this was the side of him that no one really knew.
(y/n) {I can do this..I just need to know the truth.}
"Just pour it in when you're ready, and then put your face into the Pensieve." He says softly, a tone which was a rare occurrence for Severus Snape. Alas, when he spoke in this velvety tone of his, you couldn't help but admire it.
You take one last glance behind you at the tall, cloaked man before you let the liquid flow into the Pensieve. You then took a breath before plunging your face into your past.

The seemingly bottomless void began to paint an extremely realistic replica of your parents. It felt as if you were really there with them. You looked at the scene, noticing Lucius and Narcissa sitting by them. You recognised the location, it was Malfoy manor. A place in which you had spent a fair bit of your childhood. There were others there too, quite a lot of people you had never seen before. They were all dressed in dark clothing, serious expressions on their faces. As you scanned the long table they were seated at, you froze at the sight of Professor Snape. He was sitting next to a terrifying-looking man. This unfamiliar face had skin as white as a ghost, his serpent-like nostrils made you question whether this really was a man. You watched the scene unfold before you;
"My lord." Spoke a short ugly looking man, his hair balding in patches and front teeth rodent-like. His hands quivered in fear.
"ENOUGH WORMTAIL! I have already chosen the ones to take care of this." The serpent nosed man spoke with pure venom. He rose from his seat, walking behind the seated people of the table. You noticed each person he walked by looked as if they had been petrified with fear, paranoia freezing them in place. One of them began to sweat and quiver, that being the ugly, balding man with the rat features.
"The Malfoy and White's offsprings will be the ones to finish him. Once and for all! It will be their...initiation...to prove their loyalty. Which I'm sure they will...isn't that right?" He smirked as he looked towards you and Draco's parents. You could see the fear on all of their faces, especially both of your mother's. They looked as if they were close to breaking point, the only thing stopping them from snapping being the Snake which slithered up and down the table, making a threatening hissing sound as it passed them.
"Mum, dad ? What's he talking about? Who are you?!" You shout, your voice echos but is just a mere silence to the people before you. You realise they can't hear you, neither could they see you. You couldn't help but bombard them with questions, even though deep down you knew that they couldn't answer them for you. They were dead after all, and all that's left is this troubling memory.

You swung back your head, bringing yourself out of the vision. You inhale deeply as you wipe the wet hair away from your face, backing away from the Pensieve.
"That was him wasn't it. Th-that was... Voldemort." You turn towards Snape, his expression showed a hint of shock that you had used the name of the dark lord, in which most people were too frightened to say.
"Miss White, I need you to stay calm. It was him. It was Voldemort but-"
You pull out your wand- "And YOU...why were you there...sitting next to him-you're part of his followers-his dea-"
"I was." To your surprise Snape didn't bother to take out his wand, in fact he walked closer to you.
You panted with anger, the fear crept over you making you back away from him.
"Your mother and father were under the imperious curse. I can tell you that the things they did-What everyone says-they didn't do it willingly." Snape stops etching closer to you as he senses your hostility.
"And you were too I surpose?!"
"No. (y/n), I was and still remain a spy. A spy for Dumbledore. Voldemort holds me as a close ally, I have proven my loyalty to him and it is extremely important that I keep it up. For the sake of everything, everyone...the entire Wizarding world." Snape swallows, his eyes fixed to yours. You could feel the severity in his eyes, his voice...everything.
"This deed he was talking about, the person me and Draco have to get rid of. He means kill doesn't he?"
Silence filled the tense atmosphere. You didn't need Snape to reply to work out the answer to your own question.
"But who? who does he want us to kill?" You ask, your throat sore with the fighting urge to burst into tears.
The office door creaks open, you point your wand towards it, the glow from its tip illuminates the face of who interrupts you.
"Me. He wants you to kill me." Dumbledore said, emerging from the dark doorway.
