That night you didn't sleep a wink. Flashbacks filled your head as you attempted to rest. You felt as though you were just staring at the ceiling for days, your eyes out of focus yet aware of your fuzzy surroundings. You couldn't help but feel like you wanted to cry for him, that poor defenceless little boy. No one deserves to go through a childhood like that, not even the great old grump that is Severus Snape. You eventually got your shit together and decided to actually make a start at getting ready, there was no point in getting into a rut of depressive thoughts.

You made it into the Library, your hair falling in front of your eyes slightly as you waltz through the many dusty shelves, you pick up a botanical text book, and begin to cram-study as much as you can for your next Herbology test. The book was truly beautiful, the pages looked as if they were covered in real pressed flowers, you could smell the mint leaves as if they were actually there. You decided to take the book out of the library and get some fresh air.
Heading down to the courtyard you see Draco sitting on the stone wall with Crabbe and Goyle. You walk over to him out of curiosity, you hadn't seen him since you and him got into trouble in Vandersnout's class.
"Hey, Draco can we talk?"
Draco looks up as you, a little nervously. He then looks at Crabbe and Goyle and the two of them frown at you as they leave you and Draco alone.
"I hope Snape wasn't too harsh on you the other day." You said, sitting beside him on the bench.
Draco shrugged.
"I guess I kind of deserved that one." He said, rather defeatedly. You stare at him in disbelief.
"Are you not going to tell your father about it?"
"Look y/n, I don't want to be this little brat that uses their father as a threat to others. I'm bored of it and I don't want him to have this sort of leverage on me. You know it's like I'm always in debt with him."
You nod, understanding his words. You couldn't help but be slightly confused by his sudden change in character. You put your hand on his shoulder, comforting him.
"Also I'm really not supposed to be talking with you right now. Snape's orders." He says before standing up and walking away, not giving you time to respond.
{Why would Snape tell Draco to not talk to me? And why the hell would Draco abide by that!}
You shook your head and watched as Draco rejoins Crabbe and Goyle. He completely ignores you, avoiding eye contact at all costs. You exhale, over-exaggeratedly, standing up and heading back inside the castle. You had to know what this was all about, the only way to do so was to confront Snape.

"Sounds like someone's pissed off Snape." You hear a 4th year say as they rush out of the potions classroom.
"That's an understatement, I don't think I've ever seen him so irritated." Another mutters.
"I don't think I've been given so much homework in the whole four years I've been here."
