After a rush and blunder through the castle you finally arrive at the potions classroom door. You slowly open the door, trying not to make a noise. You peer in, Professor Snape is sitting at his desk writing with his old quill on a piece of parchment.

(y/n) {Phew... he hasn't seen me, maybe if I just sneak in... he won't even notice me. Let's be real here...I'm insignificant, he probably hasn't even noticed that I wasn't there.}

You tiptoe into the room, sitting next to Draco. You place your 'Advanced Potion Making' book on the table and act as if you were there the entire time. Draco looks over to you with a side glance, trying to be nonchalant.

"(y/n) where in Merlin's name have you been?" He says in a sharp whisper, his eyes flicking over to Professor Snape, who is still writing at his desk.

"I fell asleep in Charms." You whisper with your hand over your mouth, pretending to know what's going on as you stir Draco's Cauldron.

Draco lets out a snort, covering his mouth and coughing to try and cover it up. Luckily Snape is still oblivious. You continue the rest of the lesson, Draco whispering to you, filling you in on what you had missed during the lesson. You found out that you were supposed to be learning how to brew a 'Pepper-up' Potion.

As the class ended you finally relaxed, feeling slightly smug that Snape didn't notice you were gone. You help Draco clear up the mess of both of your failed potion and started to gather your books, feeling a little defeated that your potion didn't turn out correctly.

"Class dismissed. Miss White...stay behind." Said Professor Snape, still writing at his desk, his eyes not moving an inch from his parchment.

You feel a sharp pain in your chest and your throat begins to dry up. You put your books back down on the table and slowly walk over to Snape's desk. You start sweating uncontrollably while you wait for him to move, to start speaking, or to even look at you.

"Miss White." He says, gently placing his quill down and looking at you.

"Yes Professor?"

"It has come to my attention that you have yet again... FAILED to competently brew today's potion."

"Yes Professor, I-"

"Wait. One. Moment." He spits, leaving long gaps in between each word. "Did you honestly believe that I would not notice you turning up to MY lesson......68 minutes late?" He says in a serious tone, raising an eyebrow.

"I-I can explain Profess-"

"You had a lucky escape yesterday, I will not let you get away with this today." He says standing up. "Now explain this behaviour."

"I really didn't mean to be late to your lesson, Professor Snape- Sir- I."

"Spit. It. Out." He says again with extremely long pauses.

(y/n) {for Merlin's sake y/n just stop stuttering and explain yourself!}

"I fell asleep during Charms class and nobody woke me up. By the time I woke up I was already half an hour late, then I had to make it down the stairs with all these heavy books. And then I come in, not having a clue what's going on, then to fail ANOTHER potion I just- I'm sorry." You say without taking a single breath, you try to hold back your tears but you just can't anymore. A single tear rolls down your cheek, Professor Snape's dark emotionless eyes watching it fall, followed by another couple tears from your other eye. You immediately wipe them, feeling slightly embarrassed that you've just cried in front of Your Professor.

He looks at you. Not saying a word. Scanning your face with his black orbs. You look away out of embarrassment, lowering your head in shame. Professor Snape starts to slowly walk, around his desk and over to you, his long black cloak lightly brushes past your leg, making you flinch ever so slightly. He seems to be deep in thought about something as he paces behind you.

"I will let you off this once for your lateness." He says almost with slight regret.

You exhale in relief, a little louder than you meant to.

"BUT..." he says making you jump.

"For the rest of this year, up until your N.E.W.T's, you will be having extra tutoring lessons in here with...me."

(y/n) {tutoring? So that's the punishment? I mean... it could be worse couldn't it? At this point I need all the help I can get if I want to pass my N.E.W.T's}

"You will come to the potions room at 8:30 pm...SHARP...every evening...no exceptions...Are...we...clear...Miss White?"  He forcefully states.

I turn around and face Professor Snape, who is stood still with his hands clasped behind his back.

"Uhhh, ok." You mumble. "I-I mean y-yes Professor Snape." You blurt out, stuttering again.

"Now leave me alone in peace." He frowns.

You quickly go back to your desk, gathering your books up again and heading for the door.

"Oh and Miss White?" He says turning back around to face you again. You look towards him, also turning back around from facing the exit.

"For Merlin's sake eat something and get some proper sleep." He says, almost gently with a hint of annoyance.

Snape's POV

As Miss White leaves my classroom, I sit back down at my desk, continuing my writing. I find it hard to concentrate so I put my quill back down and close my eyes trying to clear my head.

{I couldn't be too harsh on the girl, for Merlin's sake. After all she's been through over the summer, I could tell it was all taking effect on her. Her parents Sidney and Corraline were killed right in front of her. I don't even know if she knew everything that her parents were involved in. Not many people did. While serving the dark Lord before he was defeated I was one of the few people who knew of Corraline and Sidney's secret. They were Death Eaters. Just like me, they sacrificed themselves for the one they loved. If it wasn't for them I don't think Miss White would be alive. I don't think it's wise that she knows all of that though. And I shouldn't be the one out of all people to tell her about any of it. I couldn't help but feel sorry for the girl, she has no idea what her family was stuck into. If it wasn't for that damn Malfoy family, who knows maybe her parents would have never got involved in the Dark Lord's business. I can't believe I let her off that lightly though... I didn't even take any house points away... Am I going soft? Severus, you really need to be a little more harsh with the girl. Dead parents aren't always an excuse for everything!}

I sigh, realising that I'm not going to get any more work done at this rate. I decided to go to my chambers and a read a book instead. Something to take my mind off of this whole 'Miss White' situation.

{I hope Miss White will not cause me any more trouble. She always was a polite student, even though she can be a complete dunderhead sometimes. She's going to need my help if she wants even a slight chance of doing well in her N.E.W.T's}
