After your conversation with Dumbledore last night, you spent the rest of the evening revising for Advanced Potions class, using the book that Snape had given you previously when you were stuck in the hospital wing after the troll mishap. Remember that?

Even though Snape gave you the book to use, you felt as if you probably shouldn't have it. After all it was the 'property of the halfblood prince.' ... whoever that was...

You made notes in your own copy as you figured you wouldn't be able to keep the one Snape gave you forever. The night went by quickly as you got deep into your note taking, your own potions book looked practically identical to the one Snape gave you, except it was your own handwriting and you wrote 'This book is the property of (y/n) White'. Not to mention your personal copy was in much better condition.

The next morning dawned and Hogwarts was like any other day.

The castle was filled with students getting on with their timetables for the day, as did you, arriving to each of your classes and completing your work to a pretty low standard due to your lack of sleep and wandering mind.

Your final lesson of the day was potions to which you actually looked forward to, mainly because you would get to see Snape, whom brought you comfort in knowing that he knew about the current situation you were in. You arrived on time with the rest of your class, taking a seat at the front of the classroom, away from your usual seat by Draco. You could tell that Snape agreed with your seating decision due to him ignoring the fact that you had moved places without his permission. If he would have cared he would of most likely gave you an earful in front of the class, and told you to go sit back in your usual place. But he didn't so that was nice.

The lesson went well, your dreamless sleep potion would be ready to be put into phials by the end of the day. It had a pretty short brewing time, and with the help of the annotated text book you still had from Snape, it made you finish before all of your peers, to your surprise they were all struggling with this specific potion. Hermione Granger included, who was trying to remain calm, however you could sense that she was under confident.

"White, go and help Potter before he melts his cauldron." Snape groaned, he was in the middle of clearing up Lavender Brown's failed monstrosity of a potion. The thick, green gunge was seeping down the desk and onto the floor.

{It definitely shouldn't look like that.} You smirked to yourself, feeling a little guilty for being this amused.

Snape muttered a self cleaning charm before giving her a lecture about how "incapable" she was of passing her N.E.W.T's if this happened again. You felt kinda bad for her, even you struggled with the practical part of potions sometimes and it was the mysteriously helpful Potions book that had made you successful, really.

You obeyed Snape's order and moved over to Harry's desk, bringing the Advanced Potion Making book with you. Harry looked at you, a little uneasy. There was an awkward silence between you both as you set the book down on the table. He then broke eye contact, filling the awkwardness by stirring his cauldron.

You peered over the top of his potion, assessing the colour which you immediately knew was incorrect.

(Y/n) {Hmm the potion is supposed to be bright purple colour but Harry's seems to be more of a lilac colour. His stirring also shows that the potion is far too watery...}

"How many grams of moonstone did you use?"

"10. That's what it says in the book."

"Try adding another 5 1/2 grams." You said confidently.

You could feel Hermione's eyes on you as Harry looks past your shoulder muttering a "what?!" to her behind you. You could tell she was probably mouthing at Harry not to trust you and to follow the instructions in his Textbook. Typical Hermione.
