THIRTEEN

Kihyun hasn't said a word to me or even glanced my way since the situation earlier. The boys eat and talk, not paying attention to the awkward atmosphere.

I push around my food, not really in the mood to eat. I don't know why but what he said earlier is sticking with me.

"And that's exactly why I'll handle it myself."

Does he think I'm dirty?

Maybe he doesn't want to be too intimate with me.

Who's to say all the boys even wanted this weird arrangement? Leroy and Changkyun said they all agreed but is that true?

Multiple pokes to my cheek snaps me out of my trance.

Jooheon: Are you okay?

Everyone's eyes are on me, including Kihyun's.

Minhyuk: We've been calling your name for like ten minutes now.

I blink before forcing a smile on my face, Hyungwon gives me a look. He knows it's fake.

Me: I don't feel too good. I'm gonna' go back to the room.

My feet carries me away before anyone can respond. It's a good thing the restaurant is only down the street from the hotel.

I think the reality of what I'm doing set in.

It could be worse.

The boys could be monsters that treat me as a slave. But they're not, they're sweet and care about how I feel. They don't treat me like a toy.

I walk in the hotel and spot a familiar face, he sees me too and smiles.

Lee: You again.
Me: You again.

He chuckles, faint dimples make a home on his face.

Lee: I'm starting to think these meetings are destined.
Me: This isn't some kdrama.
Lee: It can be.

He wiggles his eyebrows and I laugh.

Lee: I'm here because I have a performance here on Friday, you?
Me: I'm here with Monsta-x.

He raises an eyebrow and I curse internally. Why did I say that? He chuckles.

Lee: Are you a new member or something?
Me: Assistant.
Lee: Ah, well congrats. It must be a honor to work for someone as big as them.
Me: Yeah.

He smiles at me and I look at everything but him.

Lee: Have you ever been to Japan before?
Me: My first time.
Lee: Follow me.

He whistles as he makes his way towards the door.

Lee: Are you coming?

Japan is truly beautiful at night. Lee and I walk the streets talking about whatever crosses our minds.

Me: Have you always wanted to be an idol?
Lee: Nope. My mother pushed me into it, I wanted to be a teacher. She said I shouldn't waste my looks on something so foolish.

He glances up at the sky and sighs.

Lee: My dad wanted me to do whatever I wanted, he'd support me no matter what. Sadly he passed away when I was sixteen.
Me: I'm sorry to hear that.

He smiles sadly.

Me: My parents died when I was sixteen as well.
Lee: I'm sorry.
Me: It's okay, life has been hard ever since then but I push through. Honestly I have no idea how I'm still alive.

He hums thoughtfully.

Lee: You have a purpose in this world.
Me: I would like to believe that, but I can't find it.
Lee: It's never easy finding what it is but as long as you believe you have one you'll find it sooner than later.

We return to the hotel a little after midnight.

Me: Thank you for the tour.
Lee: No problem.

"Santana!"

The voice makes both of us jump. I look over and two boys are storming our way. An annoyed looking Changkyun and a pissed looking Jooheon.

Changkyun tugs me away from him Lee and I sigh.

Jooheon: Where were you? We were worried sick!
Changkyun: Couldn't you have answered your phone?

Lee chuckles.

Lee: Wow, never seen bosses care about their assistant that much.
Jooheon: Who the hell are you?

Obviously this wasn't the Jooheon I've come to know. The Jooheon I know is cute and sweet this Jooheon is more like his rapper side amplified.

And Changkyun, well, you never really know with him.

Lee: My name is Lee. I'm with starship entertainment too.
Changkyun: Okay Lee with starship entertainment, go away.

My eyes widen.

Me: Everyone pause. Lee is my friend who showed me around Japan. My phone died and we lost track of time.

Jooheon clears his throat.

Jooheon: Thanks for bringing her back safe.

Lee nods, before he can say anything else they practically drag me away and into the elevator.

Me: You didn't have to be so mean to him.
Changkyun: I would save my energy if I were you. Hyungs are pissed.

Oh God.
