"Oh hell nah! I'm not going to school looking like this."

"Y/n, it doesn't look that bad."

"Yes, it does. This does not fit me at all. I'm not some little girl wearing colourful bows all over my hair."

I was standing in front of my body length mirror, looking at my new hairstyle. Aunty suddenly wanted to do my hair this morning and gave me this horrifying hairstyle. My hair was in four ponytails and held up by four pink, fluffy bands. Different colours of bows were thrown all around. It was cute, but cute did not fit me.

"But you're so small, of course it does. You look like a cute little nine year old."

"I'm not cute!"

"Yes you are." She pinched my cheek and giggled.

"Aunty, I'm a tomboy. It's just not my style."

I brought my hands to my hair and started to take out the bows. She grabbed my wrist, stopping me. "Y/n, please, just wear it this once. I'm not asking for anything much, am I?"

She stared into my eyes, pleadingly. It looked as if she would cry if I said the two-lettered word. I sighed. Aunty had always wanted to do this ever since she laid her mind on having kids. She wanted a girl but unfortunately, she had a boy instead. Something happened to her and caused her not to have anymore children. She could have adopted but her husband didn't want that for who-knows-why.

So, I kinda understood her desire. I was blood-related to her and now that I'm under her roof, she feels as if I was her birthed daughter. She told me once to call her mom but I refused. It would cause me to remember my mother and the painful past I went through.

I nodded. "You're wearing it?" Her face lit up. "Yes, Aunty." She squealed and pulled me into a tight hug. I kept my arms at my side with a blank face. This is torture. She pulled away and started to pat my head, smiling.

"Now get ready, I'm going to make breakfast." She pinched my cheek again and left the room. Oh boy. I looked back at myself through the mirror staring at the different colours of bows. Why, just why?

After doing my bathroom duties,  I went downstairs for breakfast. I was wearing a dark red t-shirt and black jeans with a black leather jacket wrapped around it and dark red shoes.

Just as I stepped into the dining room Mickey bursted out laughing. I ignored him and took a seat in front of him. "Nice hair," He snorted after he finished his laughter.

"Who did it?"

"You're mother of course. Doesn't it look cute," Aunty said as she entered the room with two plates of pancakes in her hands. She placed one in front of Mickey and the other in front of me. "It looks lovely, mom. You should make her wear it everyday." I shot him a glare.

"I know right but sadly she doesn't want to, she's a tomboy and I can't change who she wants to be." She flashed us a smile. "I'm going for your teas." She exited and went back into the kitchen. "Nice try."

Mickey looked at me. "I saw what you were trying to do there, getting Aunty to make me wear more girly hairstyles but it didn't work. She loves me more than you." I said, sticking out my tongue at him. He gave me the finger. I almost jumped at him but held myself down when Aunty came in. I stepped on his foot instead, but not too harshly for me to break another toe.

He let out a small 'ow'. I quickly drew my feet back, knowing he would try to return it. Aunty placed our tea beside our plates. "I'll be getting ready for work so you two be good children and don't play roughly."

"Yes, mom/Aunty."

I took a sip of my tea and involuntarily gagged. Aunty stopped at the door way and turned around. "Is something wrong?"
