Tobias POV
I get to school the next morning and determination fills me
I am going to get some answers
If I can't get anything out of Kate then there is someone else I can
"Uriah!" I call out to him as he walks up to his locker "there you are man"
"Sup T" He greets me
"Listen I have to talk to you about something"
"Sure man, let me grab my books first ok?" Uriah said and I shrug as if it is no big deal
Anticipation is coarsing through my veins and I start to tap my foot as I wait. I have all the time in the world, Kate has already left to find her friends so I'm positive she wont find out about what I'm about to say
"So whats up?" He asks me and I decide to just cut straight to the point
"What were you doing hanging around with my sister?" I asked a little more bitterly than I intended
"Why do you care?" He asks, I can see the surprise on his face
"She is my little sister man, that's why!" I say, my anger rising
"She is 17, T" He said " She can hang out with who ever she likes"
"You haven't answered my question" I seethe
" I was running lines with her, geez" Uriah said defensively "It's no big deal"
"It is to me"
"Do I need to ask your permission or something?" Uriah asks "She is a grown women T, your not going to be able to babysit her forever"
"Stay away from my sister ok?" I tell him and turn around to leave
"Or what?" Uriah asks defiantly, I spin around on my heel
"What did you say?" I ask him, steping into his personal space
"You heard me" Uriah said " I'm not scared of you T, I like her ok, she is smart, funny and she cares so much about the people she is close with and man she's pretty. If she isn't into me then I'll back off but that is her call to make - not yours"
"You don't deserve my sister and if you want to date her - you have to go through me" I say before storming out
Kate isn't dating anyone - not if I can help it
Besides Kate would never go for Uriah , he isn't her type and I'm sure if she was into him, or anyone for that matter, she would tell me. His brother has a reputation that makes me weary of Uriah
What if he is just like Zeke?
I don't want to be the one that picks up the pieces
But what Uriah mentioned about liking her has me on edge, Kate is pretty she but she doesn't realise it
How many other guys am I going to have to protect her from?
