Kate's POV
After Tobias' spectacle Tris and I hide in the bathroom while we eat
"Listen, about Tobias missing the turoring session" I start
"What about it?" Tris asks
"It's kinda my fault" I tell her shakily
Here goes nothing
"You can't take the blame for him Kate" She replies
"I'm not, listen, things aren't good at home" I say honestly "My parents argue all the time, and I mean all the time, they get into these massive screaming matches and I can't stand it, I hate it"
"Kate, I'm so sorry" She says sadly
"On Friday they were fighting again and Tobias knows I don't like it and wanted me to get out of the house and go to the party so I could take my mind off it but I didn't feel in the right mood to party after that, I just wanted to curl up in a ball and disappear and I defiantly didn't want to be around total strangers and so he came with me so that I would go" I explain "If it wasn't for me, he would never have missed the tutoring session"
"Kate, I wish I knew" She says apologetically
"There is know way you could of, I kept it hidden from everyone" I reply " Just promise me you'll talk to him"
"I promise" She says truthfully and the bell goes
***
After school I'm supposed to have a mock court meeting but I can't face Uriah - I've been brave enough for one day
So instead I go to the one place no one would expect to find me - the football oval
I'm not a sporty person so this is the perfect place
I take a seat on the grass under the shade of a tree and watch my brothers practice
When practice is almost over I see Tris make her way over to my brother and hope blossoms in my chest as they begin to talk
Tobias POV
Football training is almost over when Tris beckons me over
"What's wrong?" I ask her
"I wanted to tell you that you are forgiven" She says and I'm stunned
"What?" I ask "Really?"
"Kate explained everything, your a good brother Tobias" She says before she turns around and starts walking away
" Wait, so your going to tutor me?" I call after her
"See you on Friday" She says over her shoulder with a smile
Tris' POV
I've have seriously misjudged Tobias and I feel kinda guilty for it
I saw a side of him today that I never expected to see, he is actually kinda sweet
I just hope that Friday is a chance for us to put the past behind us
