Audra's P.O.V.
It has been just about two days since I've been a Siren and I have barely made any progress with Thara, or Peisinoe. I didn't understand these names either or the middle names. Peisinoe tried to explain to me multiple times that if something was to happen to a creature in their world, they can then escape to the human world and use their middle name to blend in. That's why middle names are only known in the family and not spoken anywhere else. Then again, this was all too confusing for me.
"Try again, the first step in becoming a Siren is learning how to use the call of a Siren on command," Peisinoe tried again with me. I haven't seen any other creatures while I have been down here. That also seemed to worry Peisinoe a lot that no one was around us.
I tried clearing my throat and singing, but nothing came out except my normal voice. This was apparently Siren 101, being able to use your voice at anytime whether you were singing or just talking. I huffed in frustration as bubbles came out of my mouth and floated to the surface.
I started to really miss my family and could only hope that they were ok. Peisinoe looked like she was going to say something again until I noticed her whole posture froze.
"What's wrong?" I questioned, not knowing what could have caused her too look a little pale.
"I have to go and you need to stay under the water and practice," she demanded. Before I could say anything to her she swam away at the speed of light and I just looked at her amazed while wondering how the hell she could do that.
I looked at the bottom of my tail, wondering if I could really swim that fast and why she didn't just swim that fast when we had to get away from him. I couldn't even stand thinking about his name without shivers running through me.
I huffed while floating down and sitting on a rock. I placed my head on my hand while wondering what I could do to keep myself entertained. My singing wasn't working and for now I didn't want to practice after trying to for two days non stop.
I jumped when something covered my eyes and said, "Why hello there."
I turned around and noticed a boy around my age with sandy blonde hair and sparkling green eyes. I immediately put my guard up, not really knowing who this boy was or what his motives were.
"Hello," I mumbled while eyeing him, trying to estimate what his next moves were. He seemed harmless and I didn't get any weird feelings or tight knots in my stomach letting me know that he was dangerous.
"Hey, I'm Atlas," he said while holding his hand out.
"Audra," I said while sticking my hand out hesitantly and shaking it.
"Sorry for eavesdropping, a lot of people saw you working with Peisinoe and a lot of us were curious who you were. She must have found you when she went up on land to visit her daughter," Atlas said. He seemed to be very observant and due to that I felt like I had to be careful what I said to him. I also could only assume more people had seen me since he stated it.
"Who is her daughter?" I questioned, still remembering the legend about the necklace that I had given Grayson before I left.
"Her daughter is Dabria," he stated while I just gave him a blank stare.
"How do you not know who Dabria is?!" Atlas questioned and I just shrugged my shoulders, not really knowing anyone or what was really going on. I guess I was getting along with other Sirens now, but was that a good thing or not since he stated that Peisinoe was the one walking on land.
"The only thing I ever remember being told is some legend where two mythical creatures, the very first ones to become mates with their enemy hid away and had a family together," I said while leaving out the part of the crystal necklace.
