The next morning Alexis' mom waltzed into her room to wake her up and she spent a solid 15 minutes arguing about not wanting to go to school. Normally this argument was valid because Alexis was a sick teenager and truly, the best cure to sickness is sleeping. However her mom wasn't having it and Alexis was only able to bribe skipping the first half of the day. Her mom was thoroughly convinced that her GPA would suffer drastically if she kept skipping, even though ever since they had moved to Florida she had been way ahead of the curve due to their horrible education system.
So Alexis was able to pawn off an extra three and a half hours of sleep before her mom went back into her room and threatened her with being benched for the first game of the season if she didn't get out of bed within the next thirty seconds.
She was able to drag herself out of bed and rush through her morning routine in 17 minutes before running outside with her backpack clinging on to her side by one strap and a cup of coffee in hand.
When she got to school, it was almost lunch time so she stayed in her car until she heard the bell ring, which wasn't so much of a bell as it was a siren and she saw hundreds of underclassmen pile out of their wing of the school. Alexis hopped out of her car and dragged her feet into the courtyard and to the other side of the school where a majority of her daily classes took place.
She immediately spotted Casey by their regular spot, surrounded by a clique of freshmen girls thinking they were special enough to be associating with the Casey Banks; a junior and a total babe. Alexis rolled her eyes and walked up and sat down right next to Casey, who looked extremely uncomfortable with the 14 year old girl clinging to his arm. She sipped her coffee as she eyed the 5 girls that were sending glares towards her and used the cup to cover her laugh. They were all blonde - dyed or natural it didn't matter much to her, they still looked like whores. They were all wearing tight jeans with shirts that they probably bought in the kid's section at Kohl's because they were tight around their boobs (which wasn't much to ogle considering they were freshmen) and showed enough midriff to get CDA from the dress code police.
Alexis threw her arm around Casey and he gave her a what-the-hell-are-you-doing look before she spoke up.
"Enjoying yourselves girls?" They all gave her a look before she choked back her laugh and continued, "So which one of you was planning on being asked to homecoming by my charming young friend here? Surely not all of you will be so lucky to be escorted by him...actually, none of you will. So why don't you run along and find some boys your own age. You know, the ones that haven't hit puberty yet, yeah?" They all gave Alexis a look of disgust while Casey wasn't even bothering to try and hide his laughter.
"You gotta learn to say no, kid. If I'd have gotten here any later you'd have five dates to the dance," She lightly smacked his arm once the girls were gone.
"I know, I know, I just don't wanna hurt their feelings, y'know?" He mumbled and she rolled her eyes.
"You're never gonna survive your senior year without me."
He rolled his eyes and began walking away, probably expecting Alexis to follow him - which she did.
"I'm just sayin', girls are vultures. 'staring right through you, picking which parts of you they will pull away first'" She quoted her favorite book.
"Thanks for the advice, Lex, but I don't think you've had enough experience in the relationship department to be giving me advice here."
Instead of being insulted, she just laughed, "True, but I have enough experience in the girl department," Alexis countered and he muttered a "barely" under his breath which she chose to ignore. Alexis knew she acted more like a guy sometimes, but at least she didn't dress like one. She still wore skirts and cute jeans and made sure her hair and make up always looked perfect. It wasn't until someone had a conversation with her that he realizes that she was a sarcastic asshole with only two emotions: happy and mad.
She looked up at Casey's tall frame to see him smiling, only to regret it moments later when she felt hot liquid running down her shirt. She looked down and saw her tight gray tank top was now stained with her favorite mocha coffee and she glared up at the culprit.
She instantly recognized the tall boy from the cages yesterday, and she was right when she said that he was taller than Casey.
"That's a fucking joke," She growled, wiping some of the liquid off of her hands and onto her favorite pair of jeans. She looked up to see the kid spluttering with laughter and out of the corner of her eye, Casey looked nervous - with reason, too.
Casey grabbed her arm and tried to pull her away, "Let's go get cleaned up, Lex," He mumbled but she pulled away from his grip and approached the asshole that managed to ruin her day not even 15 minutes into school.
"Who the hell do you think you are?" She glared up at him. Admittedly, seeing a girl not much taller than five feet wouldn't be very intimidating, but this asshat was laughing at the fact that he spilled her coffee all over her shirt. A normal human would have at least had the decency to apologize.
"S-Sorry, " He spluttered out through his laughs and she swore she almost lost it. Alexis didn't mind getting stuck with CDA if it brought her the satisfaction of knocking this clown in the balls.
"Yeah, I can see you're real fucking sorry,"
"Maybe you should watch where you're walking instead of ogling your boyfriend," He smirked and she noticed a black lip ring on his bottom lip.
"Excuse me?"
"Alexis..." She heard Casey warn.
"Maybe you should listen to your boyfriend, wouldn't want to hurt your pretty little head from getting too upset, would you?"
Alexis took a deep breath through her nose and spun on her heel, making sure to slam her backpack (which happened to contain two binders and her English textbook) against his hip. She didn't walk away until she had the satisfaction of hearing him curse and hunch over in pain before she stalked off, Casey in tow.
"Fucking prick," She grumbled.
