It had been almost a week since Alexis had gone to school, which was a whole week to avoid Luke. She was hoping he had gotten over their little make out session, but something told her he had other plans.
It was around 6 o'clock and her mom had gone out with some girlfriends to get dinner, and Alexis was sprawled out on in front of the TV, feeling more miserable than ever.
The door swung open and she watched Casey walk in, rolling her eyes at his habit of making himself at home. He made a face, and turned around, before walking around the corner and dragging a nervous Luke around the corner and through the door.
Alexis let out a loud, exasperated groan at his presence and Luke smirked.
"Nice to see you too, munchkin."
"Why'd you bring him?" She whined at Casey, pulling her warm blanket closer to her chest, despite the heat outside.
"Why's it so blasted cold in here?" Casey grumbled, ignoring her question and walking towards the thermostat.
"Touch my temperature and you won't have children," Alexis growled, not taking her glare off of Luke who looked extremely uncomfortable.
"So," Casey said, walking over to Luke and patting his shoulder, "What the hell happened between you two and why are you avoiding each other?"
Neither Alexis nor Luke said a word, as Casey's eyes traveled down to Alexis' leg.
"What the hell is that?" Casey gawked at the softball sized bruise that was healing on the side of Alexis' right knee.
"Uh-I slid into second and hit the base, no big deal..." She shrugged him off, but Casey grabbed her shoulder.
"Don't give me that bullshit, you slide on your left. What happened?"
"It's none of your concern, now is it?" Alexis grumbled, pushing Casey's hand off her shoulder while Luke stared at her knee dumbfounded.
Had he caused that?
Alexis gave Luke a warning glare and turned to Casey,
"Did you bring my work?"
Casey sighed and nodded, walking out the door without a word to go get the school work he had brought home for Alexis.
As soon as the door closed, Alexis stormed straight up to Luke, grabbing his shirt collar in her fists.
"Alright listen, and listen good. Nothing happened between us. Understood? Not a thing. Casey never finds out about this. It was a one time thing and it's not happening again so get it through your head before you think that anything is going to happen between us," Alexis spat lowly.
Luke wasn't going to lie, he was mad. He was upset that Alexis had led him on and even more upset that he had let her.
He remembered what she said about confidence (he had replayed the scene in his head at least 23 times every day since it had happened) and grabbed her tiny wrists from his shirt.
Alexis' eyes widened in intimidation but she quickly recovered herself, the scowl returning to her face.
Luke spun her around, backing her up against the wall, pulling her wrists above her head.
"Don't be so full of yourself," he whispered, bringing himself so close that their lips were almost touching and they could feel each other's breath on their lips and hear each other's hearts racing, "I never saw you as anything more than a hook up."
Alexis tried to pull her arms away from Luke's grip, but he was too strong and for the first time in her life she felt vulnerable and she hated it.
"You two are horrible liars," Casey's voice rang through the apartment.
~~
Luke had never been more uncomfortable in his entire life as he sat in the front seat of Casey's car with the music quietly playing in the background. Alexis had stormed out of her apartment after screaming at Casey for being "too nosey" and the boys had left shortly after.
Luke hadn't uttered a sound since he spat the harsh words in Alexis' face and he had regretted them instantly after they left his lips.
"Look, man, it really wasn't what it looked like," Luke spoke up after the silence had become too much. He didn't know why he felt the need to apologize, but he was worried that Casey would be furious with him.
His friend turned his head, slightly raising an eyebrow before looking back at the road.
"Then would you mind telling me what was going on?" He asked, his tone nothing more than curious.
Luke opened his mouth to answer, but he didn't know what to say. Alexis had made it clear that she didn't want anyone to know that the two of them had kissed. Hell, she pretty much told him that she had wished it had never happened.
Luke couldn't lie, it stung a little that she had said that, but he also knew that she wasn't being fully honest. How could she have been when she practically threw herself onto him the week before?
Okay, so maybe that wasn't totally true; however, it was pretty clear to Luke that they both wanted each other. At least it was. Now Luke was just confused.
"Look," Casey spoke up after Luke couldn't seem to come up with a good enough excuse, "I'm not, like, mad or anything. I know something happened between the two of you, it's clear as day that she's been avoiding you. But I'm just warning you, don't try to hook up with her. She won't go for it and I'll be obligated to kick your ass."
Luke was silent for a moment and Casey pulled into his driveway.
"I think I could take you."
~~
"Un-freaking-believable," Sydney grumbled, "He's such a lying little shit! He totally wanted you at the baseball game."
After Casey had walked in on Luke and Alexis' moment, Alexis blew up on him. She wasn't necessarily upset with Casey as much as she was with Luke, but she was so angry with everything that was going on that she just lost it.
After yelling at him for a solid 5 minutes about privacy and "minding your own damn business" she stormed out of her own apartment and sped off to Sydney's place.
Now the two girls were sitting on Sydney's bed, chatting about Alexis' situation, and Sydney wasn't being much of a help.
"That's not even the point though! I don't care if he was using me or not he just makes me so mad. I've never met anyone so arrogant and disrespectful and fucking rude and goddamn he's so hot," Alexis groaned, falling back onto the bed in frustration.
"What do you think about Calum?" Sydney suddenly blurted, her eyes glued to one of the stuffed animals on the chair in the corner of her room.
"Calum?" Alexis asked, hesitantly sitting up to look at Sydney who shrugged, biting her lip. "I think he's had more sex than the Duggar parents," Alexis shrugged causing Sydney to crack a smile.
"I don't care how much he's slept around, you know that," Sydney rolled her eyes.
"Well, I don't know him that well, but he's really sweet. He normally comes to the games with Casey, which is a plus - even though it's only so he can hook up with the team, but still."
Sydney groaned loudly, throwing the small pillow she had in her hand.
"Boys suck."
