The baseball game had turned out to be extraordinarily insignificant. Luke's clumsiness had cost the team seven base advances which turned into giving up seven runs, not including the two home runs that number 18 had hit in innings four and seven. It was actually downright embarrassing for Marion County when they ended the game with a score of 9 to 2 (the only reason they had scored was because Calum got hit by a pitch and walked, and Casey ended up hitting a ball out of the park - barely).

So the game was over and Alexis was waiting in the parking lot by her car when the three boys approached her, heads hung low.

"Hey, don't feel too bad, OC's a really good team," Alexis tried to cheer up the boys but they weren't having it.

"Hey, Lex can you give me a ride home?" She was shocked to hear the words come from Luke's mouth, rather than Casey's and she stared dumbfound for a second before she turned to Casey.

"I'm staying the night at Calum's," Casey shrugged and Alexis huffed, dropping her shoulders.

"Get in," She grumbled, unlocking her car.

Luke threw his equipment in the back seat and slid into the front. He buckled his seat belt but Alexis didn't start the car.

"Who said you could call me Lex?" She said, looking at the steering wheel. Luke had been occupied by fumbling with the string on his pants and his head snapped up when he heard Alexis speak up.

"I, uh, sorry?" He stuttered, not sure what to say. He didn't even realize he had used the nickname when it slipped out.

"Don't do it again," Alexis grumbled, still not starting the car.

"Are you, uh, are you gonna go?" Luke asked, awkwardly, looking around the parking lot to see the rest of the cars had gone.

Alexis had made the same observation, not bothering to make any moves to leave. She turned in her seat so she was facing Luke, her seat belt wasn't fastened.

"What happened to the cocky Luke I met a few weeks ago?" She questioned, curiously running her finger up his arm.

Luke's eyes widened and when he began to speak, his voice cracked.

"I, um, I-I'm just upset about the game, I guess?" He stuttered, trying to gain his composure. It wasn't like him to get this nervous around a girl, but she was hot.

Alexis finally looked him in the eye and noticed how vulnerable he looked with his eyes wide, his mouth parted with a confused look on his face. She groaned and fell back in her seat.

"You're hotter when you're an asshole," She fussed and buckled her seat belt, starting the car before Luke could respond.

"I live off of cherry hill..." Luke muttered quietly, but Alexis turned the other way.

"I've gotta make a stop at Target."

The car ride was silent and Luke felt remarkably uncomfortable.

She liked it when he was an asshole?

Luke spent the entire ride thinking about her words before deciding what he had to do. When Alexis pulled into the parking lot at Target and stopped the car, Luke reached over and unbuckled her seat belt.

She looked at him with a confused expression, but he grabbed her hips and, quite literally, pulled her over the center console. She banged her knee on the parking brake, but neither of them cared as Luke pulled her onto his lap so she was straddling him. He didn't waste any time attaching their lips as one hand grabbed the back of her neck and the other made its way to her ass, pulling her closer to him.
