The next night, Midoriya left his room late at night, at a time most everyone else was asleep. He knocked on Tomura's door, hoping that somehow he was awake.

He had just been thinking about the hero killer again, he read online about the hosu incident but didn't understand why the guy said he had sent him to prison--that was Endeavors achievement. That's why he wants to talk to Tomura.

Luckily, it only took a second for him to open the door. "Oh, what's up Midoriya," he asked sleepily.

"Can we go up to the roof, I wanna talk to you about something," he asked a bit nervous, though he wasn't exactly sure why he felt this way.

Tomura looked at the clock on his wall, 12:16am, he sighed, "sure, why not." He wasn't too happy about going up there so late but because of the time he figured it would be important.

The two boys went to the end of the hall and climbed out the window onto the roof where they could look up at the stars and sat down. They were quiet for a moment, just listening to the psithurism in the darkness. They looked up at the sky as Midoriya phrased and rephrased in his head what he wanted to say.

Psithurism=The sound of wind through the trees

After a while of silence, Tomura was the one to speak up. "So what's goin' on, man?," he asked through a yawn.

"When.. I went after stain,.. before he died, he said something kinda odd," he started. "He said that I was 'one of the brats that sent him to prison'," he used airquotes with his hands.

Imediately, Tomura realized where this was going and as Midoriya continued, he knew Izuku's intuition was correct.

"But, it didn't make any sense because I don't remember anything like that.... Honestly Tomura, I can't remember much at all from before the heroes kidnapped me, and- and that scares me."

"Are you doubting what we've all told you?"

The question struck Midoriya as odd, but he'd rather defend himself than question it at the moment. "What?! No! That's not what I was saying, just that.. I don't know anything about my life other than the few things all of you guys have told me. And the hero killer just confused me is all."

"If what he said is all that's bothering you then you shouldn't worry, he was about to die, probably just spouting nonsense."

No,.. Izuku thought, he had already considered the possibility and determined it didn't make sense. But he didn't want to argue, or bother Tomura anymore than he already has, he was clearly tired and not fully invested in the conversation.

"You're probably right," he said after a bit, still staring off into space.

"Lets head back inside," Tomura got to his feet and looked down at Midoriya, watching the boy stare up at the trees. "Don't worry about it kid," he said to him.

Midoriya got up and they headed back through the window, though he still wasn't satisfied with the answers he got. Before Midoriya opened the door to his bedroom, Shigaraki stopped him with a hand on his shoulder. "Izuku, you shouldn't go looking into this," he said. "It might not end well for you." Then he turned to his room across the hall and shut the door, leaving Midoriya staring at the door in the empty hallway.

It might not end well? The phrasing threw him off, Tomura knew something and he didn't tell him.

After a moment he headed back into his own room and layed himself on the uncomfortable bedding.

He lied to me.. but why. Blurry peices started to come together, Stain, the way people say a few things, why he can't remember anything, his pills that he didn't know what they were for, anytime twice would say 'you're really different'. He didn't understand but he knew things weren't adding up, the loving feeling of family that's filled his heart turned to distrust and caution and fear.

Later into the night, he was able to fall asleep and when he woke he still had the same gut feeling that this wasn't where he belonged.

~oOo~

Four months. Midoriya had been missing for four months. Inko hasn't contacted anyone for a long time, she's kept herself locked away in her home, barely eating or sleeping. She, of course, still kept up with the investigation though it was going almost nowhere.

All Might used to check up on her several times until one day she yelled at him and said it was partially his fault too and he's been blaming himself ever since.

Through all the time that he's been gone, not a single lead had manifested, nor had he been seen in public once.

Class 1-A had gone back to normal, almost. It was still awkwardly quiet a lot, and many still missed Midoriya; however, the school could only allow so much unproductive behavior. They had restarted class only about a week or so after his disappearance and most avoid talking about the subject.
