La Da Dee by Cody Simpson^
"Where have you two been?" Casey asks as soon as Jordan and I walks into the kitchen. I instantly stop then walk out of the kitchen, hearing Casey yelling after.
I went upstairs to the bathroom. I needed to pee and I also didn't want to deal with Casey, so I needed to get away from her.
Washing my hands, I stared in the mirror at my image. Looking at my face, I knew I aged a little but I still looked the same as I did when I was in my twenties.
My body was basically the same since I kept it in good shape. There wasn't much of a difference from when I was twenty to now, so I guess that's good.
Looking old was something that I didn't want to face because I hated the idea of it. I knew that it was going to happen whether I wanted it to or not.
I walked out of the bathroom and saw a girl standing there looking a little surprised. "Sorry." I apologized then walked around her.
Walking back downstairs, I went into the kitchen and overheard Jordan and Casey talking. I stopped and watched them for a moment until Casey caught me.
"Did you enjoy your appointment?" Casey asks as I walk to the fridge.
Turning to face her, I shrugged and opened the water bottle. "Not really." I took a sip and watched as she was staring at me.
"Why not?"
"Same shit every week. It's useless."
Casey shakes her head. "You two won't give it time."
"Time?" I ask. "We've been going to this stupid therapist for about seven years."
To think that it's already been eight years since I came back.. it's crazy that when you think about eight years, you think it's a long time. But when you're living those years day by day, it seems to fly by.
"There's not a point anymore to go to this therapist." I look up to meet Casey's eyes.
She sighs. "Alexis-"
"Jordan and I are fine. We've solved all our problems years ago, but it seems like everyone around us still thinks that there's something wrong."
Casey looks over at Jordan then back at me. "There still is something wrong. You both just can't see it, but I can."
"Oh, cause you're a therapist? Is that why? You see things that we can't?" I watch her for a moment. "It's all bullshit, Casey. You hate the idea that we're finally happy and there's not any drama where you can just jump into and help us like last time." I chuckled. "It's been ten years since we separated and knew it was for the best, and it's been over thirteen years since this all started. Since everything started. We've moved on, Casey. Why can't you?"
I watch as she looks over at Jordan and I let my gaze fall on her as well. She was standing there, staring at nothing. She had one hand on the counter and the other was loosely against her side.
She seemed lost in thought, not minding what we were discussing. In her own little world, completely lost.
"Alexis, I'm not trying to be the bad guy. I just want to help you both understand something that you're not noticing."
Not caring what she has to say anymore, I grab my water bottle and sit down at the table. I took my phone out and look through it as Casey was talking to Jordan, but she asks her nicely to leave.
When Casey left, I look up and met Jordan's eyes as she was staring at me. She sighs then walks over to me before stopping at the table. "I'm sorry, Alexis."
