This chapter is a new version of "Chapter 7: Revelation(original). I couldn't stop thinking about this chapter, so I had to rewrite it to feel better. This is canon to my story's universe. The original isn't what happened.
Following Fuli and Uon
Fuli's been staying at the oasis for the past few days, trying to figure out what was going on with Uon. No matter where she saw him, he was covered up to the shoulders in mud, and smelled like mint. She could've sworn that he also only slept on his left side, but when his left was revealed without any mud, she could just make out a bit of deep orange fur that was in some pattern. HIs left was never revealed enough for her to get a good look at it, though.
"Uon," Fuli said, "want to go out hunting?"
"You sure your leg's fully healed? Can you run?" Uon asked
"I think so. I can definitely run better than when you found me lying on the ground, about to eaten by buzzards." Fuli replied. "Did I ever thank you for that? I don't think I did, so asante Uon."
"Hakuna matata. I'd do the same thing for anybody." Uon replied
I doubt that. There's something Uon isn't telling me, but I don't know. I still can't pinpoint his scent, he still smells like nzuri, but now that that smell is weakening a bit, I can also smell tuliza on him, even though he hasn't been near some in a while. Maybe even years. Fuli thought, but since she doubted Uon would straight up tell her what he's hiding, so she simply said. "I know, but still, asante. Should we head out now?"
"Sure. Where do you want to hunt? The mud would be more useful in the forest." Uon said, then sensing Fuli's hesitation, he added. "It wouldn't be wet mud."
"How do you know how much I hate water?" Fuli asked
"Well," Uon replied, "we have had other king cheetahs pass through here, and they all hated water, so it was safe to assume you didn't like water as well."
"You assumed correctly." Fuli said. "Let's head out into the forest. My spots should help hide me as well as the mud helps hide you."
"That makes sense." Uon replied as they started to walk out towards the forest. "Should we hunt some deer?"
"Sure." Fuli replied as they walked to the forest and starting hunting deer, and they manage to take down a whole adult deer.
"We make a great team don't we, Fuu-?" Uon asked, than quickly corrected himself by saying, "Fuli?"
"We sure do." Fuli replied. He almost called me Fuuls.
"Should we share this deer?" Uon said, trying to cover up his mistake.
"Sure." Fuli replied
"Then come over here." Uon told her. As they ate, Fuli heard Uon humming Hakuna Matata under his breath, like when she woke up the second day she was in the oasis, so she decided to start singing.
"Hakuna Matata," Fuli sang
"What a wonderful phrase!" Uon sang
"Hakuna Matata,"
"Ain't no passing craze!"
"It means no worries"
"For the rest of your days"
"It's our problem free
philosophy."
"Hakuna Matata!"
