Following Fuli

Fuli woke up to seeing her cub self's tail intertwined with Kion's, and all the moments they spent together.

Why am I being shown this? Fuli thought as her dream switched to the Lion Guard's Lair in the Pride Lands.

"Aaahh," Bunga said, "only time I get to stretch my legs now is when I'm dreaming."

"Really, Bunga?" Fuli asked

"Yeah, it's true. Ever since you escaped, Makucha has been not letting us get out and posted a permanent guard at our cell.  We can only drink from turtle shells, and can only get the food he gives us, or we find in our cell." Bunga replied. "Wait. Ever since you escaped. Did you find Kion? I thought I heard you tell us you failed."

"I thought I did, but I was saved by someone.  A leopard no less." Fuli said.  I'm not ready to tell them about Uon, in case he is just a weird lion. She thought

"Well," Ono said, "that's unexpected."

"I know, I know," Bunga said, "but I'll just skip to what's important.  Makucha is letting Rafiki into our cells, he told us more about our powers.  More specifically, we can do a few things; borrow each other's specialties, heal each other and know if each other's alive, share dreams, and see where everybody is.  But Kion's isn't working.  None of us can see Kion."

"Well," Anga said, "Rafiki did say that they only work when all members are willing."

"But why would Kion not want us to see him?" Bunga said

"I think he feels like he failed us, and is too ashamed to come back.  Kion is alive, we all know that." Ono said

"I do feel like he's close, but since that's all, how are Timon and Pumbaa?" Fuli asked

"Singing." Bunga replied. "Hakuna Matata and Tujiinue are the two tunes they're singing."

"I'll find Kion.  I know I will, and I'll bring him back to us. Hakuna Matata," Fuli said

"What a wonderful phrase," Bunga added

"Hakuna Matata," Ono continued

"Ain't no passing craze!" Anga continued

"It means no worries," Beshte sang

"For the rest of your days." Fuli sang

"Hakuna Matata!

It's our problem free

Philosiphy

Hakuna Matata!" The Guard sang as the dream ended and they started to fade away

Fuli woke up to see Uon sitting right next to her, humming Hakuna Matata. "What are you doing?" she asked

"Oh," Uon said, caught off guard, "I heard you singing that tune in your sleep."

"Was I that loud?" Fuli asked

"Not at all," Uon said, pointing to a nest right next to her's, "you see, that's my nest, and I woke up earlier than you, so I decided to go hunting and caught a gazelle for you."

"Thanks," Fuli said, trying to get up, "but I can hunt my own prey."

"I've seen the products of a long journey enough." Uon replied. "You need too rest up."

"Fine." Fuli said, seeing the sense Uon is making. "But that doesn't mean I have to like it."

"Wouldn't ask ya too." Uon said

"You smell different." Fuli commented

"It's because the mud is actually mud, and I fell into some nzuri flowers instead of fox-dung."

"You ever gonna learn how to climb a tree properly?"

"You're one to talk.  The last cheetah I knew said 'cheetahs don't climb trees'."

"Well, that is right, but at least lions can climb trees."

"You want me to show you how mud can help you hunt once you get better?"

"Sure."
