"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. Yet his shadow still looms. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives; who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves?"
~Friedrich NietzscheThe warm sun hit my skin, sending a comfortable warmth throughout my body. Since I didn't close the window last night, a nice breeze came into the room, giving a stark contrast to the sun's warmth. It wasn't as cold as the nightly winds and not nearly as cold as the winters in Dogville, but it was still stronger than the few rays of morning sun.
Shivering from the chilly wind, I tried to burry my head deeper into the pillow in order to hide from the cold. I didn't want to get up just yet, the bed was so nice and warm after all. Yeah call me lazy, but it was really comfortable. Also I'm on standby right now, so I might as well enjoy it as long as I can. As a Jaeger, you don't really get a vacation unless there aren't any missions or you're injured.
Or dead, but well that's the risk of the job.
What I didn't expect however was to hear the pillow sigh at my movements. Wait what? Pillows couldn't sigh the last time I checked. Was I still dreaming? I was dreaming right?
My eyes shot open, not finding the pillow I thought I held onto. Instead, I saw white bandages wrapped around a bare chest. All right, I don't like where this is going. I slowly looked up; my face immediately flushing red upon realizing what was going on. The thought pillow was indeed a living being.
Yuliy lay next to me, in my bed, in my room. He had his arms wrapped around my waist and his head buried in my hair. His chest rose and fell in a slow but steady rhythm, indicating that he was still asleep. The memory from last night slowly returned to my still sleepy brain, finally understanding what had happened. Yuliy must have fallen asleep after I refused to move. Well, at least the 'I'll use you as a pillow' threat became reality, right? Yeah I know, that's not helping my situation. Alright, time to start with Plan A.
I tried to scoot away from the sleeping Sirius in order to stand up without waking him. That failed however as said male pulled me back every time I moved an inch. On top of that, he unconsciously shifted his weight, so that he was now basically lying on top of me. Great, even less movement now. And I gladly say it again: For someone who seemed so slim, Yuliy was really heavy. Okay, Plan A failed so moving on to famous Plan B.
Instead of moving away, I tried to push him away, now purposely risking waking him up. That may have sounded like a solid plan, but a sleeping Sirius was harder to move than you think. Seriously, why does he have to be such a heavy sleeper? I knew that Philip was hard to wake but since when was Yuliy so ridiculously hard to wake? Since it seemed like moving him on my own wouldn't happen anytime soon, I quickly gave up. Moving on to Plan C then. All good things are three, right? Right? Please say yes...
Since moving either of us was out of the question now, the only option I had left was to wake him up. If he wanted to sleep in, he should've stayed in his room. Philip likes to sleep in too, so that would've been perfect. But coming back to the matter at hand, how do I wake someone who sleeps like the dead? Well, I can only try.
"Yuliy." I called carefully as not to startle him. I didn't plan on ending on the floor today, so it's going to be the careful approach. No reaction. "Yuliy!" I called a little louder this time, but still careful not to wake up the whole house. Still no reaction. Seriously, does he hear nothing? I sweat if he's only messing with me, he's going to regret it. Honestly, that wouldn't even surprise me.
Since careful waking didn't work and I'm not really famous for my angel-like patience, it's time for drastic measures.
"Yuliy for god's sake! If you don't wake up this instant you can say 'good morning' to the floor!" Don't ask me how I planned to make this threat become reality. I was desperate okay? A dogs bark is worse than his bite after all.
