"The battlefield is a scene of constant chaos. The winner will be the one who controls the chaos, both his own and the enemies."
~Napoleon Bonaparte"What the hell happened to this thing?"
So, as you know, quite a few things happened yesterday. After Mikhail's sudden disappearance, Yuliy and I rejoined with the others. It actually turned out that things were quite interesting on their side, too.
The strange newspaperman, which stalled the Jaeger at the night of the attack on Dr. Hanada, was on the train too. If you believe it or not, on the side of the military, who apparently was there too. Therefore, we now know that the military is suspecting us in multiple cases, including the Vampires they have yet to understand. What exactly they're thinking of us, we don't know.
I also learned that Ryoko was on the train too. To be more specific, she was already on the train to Shizuoka and changed trains with us as Yuliy and I went after the Vampire smell. However, it turned out Ryoko is trained in swordsmanship and even managed to defeat a Vampire on her own, protecting the others from an attack. I have to admit, she has my respect for that. Still, she got herself in a life-threatening situation again. As much as I'm informed, Ryoko is talking with her father about that in this very moment. I believe he wasn't really thrilled as the Professor explained to him what had happened.
Of course he left out the fact that Vampires were involved and that we are actually Jaeger, hunting down said Vampires. It's probably for the better. To hear that your daughter was on a hijacked train, without even telling you she was going out was already quite something to process.
Well, on top of all that, I found out how the rest even caught up to us. Apparently, there was a massacre in the Alma Trading Company, after which the Jaeger grew concerned and suspicious. They tried to catch up to us and saw that the hijacked train wasn't on the right track anymore, immediately following it. In the process, they totally ruined the car.
You can probably guess who has the pleasure to fix it.
I'm definitely not being paid enough.
"Yeah, the damage is quite bad." Although I couldn't see Fallon, I still heard him clearly. At first, he and Philip tried to fix it on their own in order to give me a little rest. Despite the sweet gesture, they didn't really know what to do, having never done something like this in their entire life. And so, I had to come down in order to fix the damage, after those two came knocking on my door, practically begging me to help them.
Honestly, it was a sight to see.
"Quite bad? You totally destroyed this thing. The tires are broken, I'm very sorry for the poor oil line and I don't even want to know what you did to make the engine look like that." As things look right now, I'm going to lie under this thing for quite a while. Good thing I don't wear anything white like Philip, because there is going to be a lot of oil coming out of this thing if I want to fix it.
"Wouldn't it be better to get a new car?" Oh Philip, you and your naïve, young mind. Do you even know how hard it is to get any money from the HQ for our missions? I do, because I'm trying to pay all you weapons with it. Thank God for Willard and his connections though, they make things much more easy.
"Never mind that. We can't inflate the repair fee, can we?" No, we can't. Rolling out from under the car, I sat up and looked up at the two males in front of me. If I'm going to do this the whole day, I at least want some kind of repayment after this. After all, I was supposed to be resting to give my injuries a chance to heal properly. Maybe I should teach them how to repair the car at some point. It would make my life easier.
