Phil's POV-I've taken Dan to a particularly fancy restaurant where everyone is about 80+ and having a competition over who's got the most fancy tuxedo. There's a reason we're here. The waitress comes out with what can only be described as foam.
"Your job is the best job." Dan states, referring to the fact that being 'outstanding' in my job (a copywriter) got me a reservation at this restaurant for free.
"Well you're job is pretty great too, we got to see that opera and you cried." I point out.
"Yeah, being a drama critic is miles better than working in a damn café." Dan jokes. There's comfortable silence between us for a little while. I'm at peace when I'm with Dan. I have been for a year. We finish our food and the waitress brings out the dessert. It's some damn good dessert. I realise after we finish this we'll get going so I spring into action.
"Dan," I get his attention.
"Yeah?" He asks.
"Dan, a year ago today we kissed. It was one of the best days of my life. I'd fallen in love with you a while before we kissed and I've been falling in love with you more ever since." I announce. He looks at me unsurely. When I get up off the table and onto my knee, his unsure look becomes an overwhelmed smile. He looks away before looking back with tears in his eyes. I bring out a black box, making him cry even more.
"Dan Howell," I hold his hand. "Will you marry me?" I ask, my heart gunning. He goes to open his mouth but shakes his head before lunging at me. I drop the ring in my shock before hugging him back. I feel the tears dampening my shoulder. He pulls back.
"Yes." He answers finally and the smile that spreads across my cheeks has never been so wide before. I get the ring and slide it onto his finger, tears running down my face as well. I kiss him firmly on the lips and he kisses right back.
"I love you, Phil." He whispers.
"I love you too."
