Phil's POV-

"PHIL!" Dan yells, disturbing me from my lovely dream.
"What?" I ask sleepily.
"SYLVIA IS IN LABOUR!" He shouts. I gasp before practically falling out of bed and rushing to get ready. We frantically throw things in a bag and brush our teeth and get in the car. I drive us to the hospital with Dan shouting at me to go faster. We finally make it to the hospital and pile into Sylvia's room and sit down next to her.
"How are you?" I ask.
"Contractions are a bitch, your baby is killing me here!" She pants, before scrunching her face up and making sounds of pure agony. Dan and I rub her back and I stupidly offer my hand which she squeezes way to tightly.

Hours go by and Dan and I go and fetch more ice for Sylvia.
"Phil?" Dan's voice sounds timid.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"I'm scared." He breathes.
"I am too, Dan. But we're ready to have our kid," I clutch his hand. "We're stronger than ever and I don't know about you but I'm not going to let anything come between us. I want to have kids with you, Dan. And I want to grow old with you." I say determinedly. Dan's expression softens and he sinks into my arms, kissing my lips.
"I love you." He whispers. I hold his face.
"I love you too."

A few more hours pass. Sylvia's contractions seem more painful than ever and she's getting angry. I make sure to keep my distance. A doctor enters the room.
"Sylvia Mason, you're fully dilated! You're ready!" She says excitedly. Dan and i look at each other happily before following Sylvia into the room where our baby will be born.

A deafening cry is all I can hear as I hold onto Sylvia. Dan's holding her too and we're both telling her how much we appreciate her.
"Here's your baby!" The doctor says gently, bringing a small little baby wrapped in a towel over to Sylvia. I take a good look at her. She's so tiny and beautiful... I feel a tear pour down my cheek and I make no attempt to stop it. After Sylvia finishes feeding her, she passes her over to me. Once she's in my arms everything just feels right. I look down at her and realise just how small she is. I stroke her cheek very gently and see her curiously flick an one eyelid open to reveal the most gorgeous blue eye I've ever seen in my life. I feel more tears escape from my eyes.
"Hiya!" I whisper gently. I carefully move her hat an inch so I can stroke the small tuft of hair with my thumb. She yawns with her tiny little mouth and smacks her little lips together before shifting slightly.
"Heart, beats, fast, colours and promises," I start to sing in the gentlest voice possible. She seems curious at the tone but finds it relaxing.
"I have died everyday waiting for you, darling don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more..." I continue to sing. I finish the song and she's asleep. I gently, so gently, kiss her forehead. I feel Dan's hand on my shoulder and I turn to look at him. I pucker my lips and he kisses them. It's a tear-filled kiss but one of the most sweet kisses we've shared.
"I think of you when I sing that song." I tell him. Tears fall down his cheeks and he reaches his finger out. The baby's little fingers wrap around it, causing me to bury my face in Dan's arm whilst tears of emotion fall down my cheeks.
"I can't believe she's here." Dan whispers.
"She's perfect." I whisper too.
"She really is." There's silence between us for a bit, before Dan mentions:
"Y'know, we could call her Christina, after the singer." He shrugs.
"She does look like a Christina." I agree.
"It has so much meaning... it's so perfect." His voice breaks.
"Christina Lester... I like it, I really like it." I say.
"Me too." He sniffles.
"We're a family, Dan." I confirm.
"The Lester family."
