"It's your birthday you fucker! You have to celebrate!" I was bartending, Benny stood across from me with a scowl. Since we graduated college he and I decided to open a Bar and Grill. I took care of the alcohol and Benny took care of the food. I wasn't supposed to work today, but Nancy, our part-timer had called off.

I didn't mind covering for her, though it was my birthday I was in no mood to celebrate. Benny and I moved out of town, so the drive to my parents' house was a no go. Apart from working my only choice would be to stay alone in our apartment.

"Come on, Pete! I'm gonna fire Nancy's ass for this." I frowned as Benny took his phone out.

"Don't be a dick, she said her son got sick and she didn't want to leave him." Benny stuffed his phone back into his pocket with a groan. Benny's irritation subsided as a tall black haired girl touched his shoulder. I watched as she whispered something in his ear and he smirked.

Just like that he dropped his interest in me and gave her his undivided attention.

Somethings never change.

"Let me get two shots of tequila." I wiped down the counter and turned to the customer with a curt nod. The customer was a girl with pink hair and a septum, by the look on her expression she was not having a good day.

"Lime on the side too." I cut up a lime and slid the plate towards her with the shots of tequila afterward. She was quick to take the first shot and bite the lime with a grunt. The man beside her stared at her with curiosity, his eyes focusing on the shot she hadn't touched.

Don't even think about it asshole.

"Need some company, angel?" The pink-haired girl bit another lime while flipping him off. She then turned to me and asked for two more shots.

"Fuck off, creep." The man turned red but stood his ground. It took a glare from me to have him step back. Pathetic.

Once the bar got busy I lost focus on the pink-haired girl and served other customers. Last time I saw her she was six shots in, I felt guilty for not cutting her off sooner. She was tiny, I was sure by now she was wasted.
