Benny had managed to dodge our confrontation. I was surprised he had made it out of bed so early in the morning while hungover. My phone had cracked the night before because I had thrown it, so I planned on replacing it today and asking Sandra to tag along.

She had mentioned being off today so I hoped to be spending the whole day with her. Even though my phone was severely cracked it worked enough to be able to communicate with her.

Pete: I'll come by to get you

Sandra: it's ok I'll meet you at your place I just got a bike and I want to try it out

She's so fucking cute. I couldn't help but feel a stupid smile taking over my usual sour expression. Then again, I didn't mind it. It was refreshing to feel something other than cynism. After I took a shower I raced to the kitchen deciding on treating Sandra to breakfast. I wasn't much of a cook so the easiest thing I could think of making was pancakes. I ended up making a decent stack after burning my first attempts.

As I started dicing fruit I heard soft knocks at the door and smirked. I could already picture the delight in her face. My pleased expression dropped as I realized the knocking was from Benny, not Sandra. "Hey man, it smells fucking good in here," he trudged past me shamelessly as my eyes narrowed.

"It's not for you, asshole!" I shouted as he reached for the plate I had placed on the table. His eyebrows rose and he tilted his head to the side. I was about to charge at him when knocks were heard again. I was certain this time it was Sandra and I couldn't help but dislike the idea of her seeing Benny, moreover her talking to him.

"Who's that?" He questioned trying to sidestep me

"I'm leaving, we'll talk later." He simply shrugged and turned back to the pancakes.

As the knocks continued I reached for my jacket and phone. I guess I'll treat Sandra to breakfast somewhere else. Sandra smiled once I finally opened the door and stared at me expectantly. "Did you eat breakfast?" I asked hoping she hadn't.

"No, have you?" I interlocked our fingers and pulled her along as I replied with a no.
