"I remember hearing him say they were going home. It has to mean back to where she used to live." The detective scribbled more writing onto his notebook and nodded. It felt useless testifying when I knew how slow the cops were working. Daniel was quicker at getting things done and that was saying a lot since not so long ago he and I were beefing.

"Alright, we do have reason to believe they're in Westlake, but we cannot dispatch an officer until we get approval from their county police. The case has to get transferred and then the station can contact the person of interest for questioning." I narrowed my eyes, shaking my head in disbelief.

"Person of interest?! He fucking kidnapped her you need to issue a warrant for his arrest!" The detective let out a sigh and tried to calm me down. It was pointless, I was already on my feet with my hands pressed down onto the table. This excuse of a cop was trying to make me believe they were trying their best as if I was booboo the fucking fool. Fuck this!

"We don't have enough evidence. The cameras don't show his face and the phone call will not be enough to arrest him." Ridiculous! At this point, all I could think is that they don't want to help or they're not the right people to help.

"I'm done with this shit! I tried playing by the books, I'm gonna go find her myself." The officer insisted I take a seat and think things through, but I waved him off and walked out the door. I wasn't going to let another day pass by.

"I love Sandra, she's my girl, but I can't go back to Westlake." Andres soothed Paola as she wiped another tear and handed me the address. I hadn't asked for her to join me, though I knew part of her wanted to.

"What if she's not home? Don't you have his address?" Paola shook her head and sniffled.

"He hangs by a warehouse they call the club, it's undisclosed, only certain people know how to get there." I watched as she stared off probably remembering being there. With the way her body cringed, I could see why she couldn't put herself in the position of going again.

"Let's go then. I have a term paper due tomorrow." Daniel insisted on joining the road trip to help us find Sandra. So far only Benny and I had decided ongoing. It wasn't like I needed all of the company, I knew I could take Steven all on my own.
