It's your motherrrrrr, pick up the phoneeee... you can't hi-

"Hello" I answered groggily. What time is it?

"Hello, you have to get up Faith. You have a meeting in 2 hours. You should've been up by now." I heard my mothers angelic voice at -looking at my phone- 8 in the morning.

Note my sarcasm. "Ma, good morning to you too." I replied removing my hello kitty throw blanket.

"Don't get smart. Get ya ass up now. If you don't tell me you're on the way in an hour I'm calling back." She replied. She wasn't lying. She will literally set an alarm and call back in an hour.

"Ok mommy, I'm getting up now. Bye love you."

"You better be, love you too." Stretching I made my way to the bathroom not waisting any time. After about 15 minutes, that's a new record for the shortest shower I've ever taken, I walked back to get dressed. Reminding myself that this is a business meeting I walked to my more "professional" clothes.

You might be wondering, why is my mother coming with me to my meeting. Well, she comes with me to everything. When I said she would drop anything to support me, I meant it. My mom isn't my manager. I handle all of that myself, I haven't found someone to help me yet. She goes with me for nothing more than support and to make sure my wishes are heard in whatever meeting, or business venture, I'm on. This meeting today was special. My mom runs a group for single mothers and teenage mothers, so they have some form of support system outside of family. That topic is dear to her, since she was a single teenage mother with me. Half of her family disowned her when she became pregnant with me. Her only support system was her mother, aunt and sister. The meeting we have today is specifically geared towards single mothers and/or teenage mothers.

After getting dressed I went back in to the bathroom to brush my teeth since I washed my face in the shower. Checking the time I realized I needed to brush my hair down and do a quick face, in 15 minutes.

Being seconds shy of 9, I texted my mother.

Locking up, I walked to my car

Locking up, I walked to my car. My phone automatically connected and I placed my music on shuffle. As Hard White by Nicki Minaj began to play I drove towards my moms house in Harlem.

Pulling up, my mom was already locking her doors. I think she has my location on or a tracker or something, she always ends up already outside like she knows I'm 10 seconds away. I've never had to tell her I'm outside.

"Morning baby" she said kissing my cheek getting in.

"Morning mommy" I replied. "We stopping at Starbucks on the way. I haven't had any coffee or anything to eat. Did you eat?" I asked.

"Yea, I made a omelette and had some coffee."

"Wow, you didn't bring me anything?" I replied, shaking my head. I can't believe this lady sometimes.
