"Are you in position?"

"I asked you not to waste my time with stupid questions."

"I'm just making sure."

"You'd better be making sure my money is being wired to my account."

"Relax. You will get your money."

Fargon's only reply was the dial tone.

No matter, he didn't care. He was too busy celebrating.

The poor Alpha Bitch found herself a mate. A small, frail and pale whore. How wonderful!

If only the Council would see this the way Fargon could. The little slut was simply a pathway.

An opportunity.

And like a snake, Fargon sees his opening and he strikes.

And the perfect moment arose when she left the safety of the pack house. How tragic.

Fargon would go himself, but he had bigger plans.

So he sent an Assassin. The only one he would trust to get the job done right.

The Silencer.

And so Fargon would meet the little slut later.

For now, she had bigger problems.

It took a while for the birds to start chirping again. The squirrel in the tree adjacent to mine sat, head tilted, stare curious. And maybe a little cautious.

For great reason too, because I had nothing pure on my mind.

When the birds did start chirping again, it was already after the girl had gone inside.

I sat in my tree for 34 minutes, watching from high above the ground as the girl skipped through the path in the woods.

So happy. So innocent.

So sad.

Pathetic.

Tragic.

She wouldn't even see it coming.

I watched as she stepped on the welcome mat and entered the hospital. I waited until I heard her check in before I dropped from the tree. I landed in a crouch, my feet silent. I pressed the button on the remote to disable the hospital camera. I have 60 seconds to do what I need to.

I stepped out of the tree line, my cloak covering my face. I slipped the backpack off of my shoulders and walked to the mats. I stayed low, making sure the woman sitting behind the counter wouldn't see me. I then lifted the mat and set the plate down. I took my time and set it up carefully.

Then, I reentered the woods, scaling a different tree. With only seconds to spare.

The cameras were back on. And now I wait.
