Evan's POV

I was down for maybe two minutes. It was a long two minutes. Only Two minutes, though.

I lay on the ground, face down, on the ground. My side hurts, where Elliot kicked me black and blue. My knee was stiff and swollen, telling me it was at least sprained. I sprained my knee. I had Kai to thank for that. Kai. Brett was definitely the reason why my whole face was swollen, too. He always had it out for me.

He wasn't like the others. He wasn't like me.

He wasn't like us, he wasn't like me. He wasn't like me.

He liked to hurt people, hurt people.

I stood up shakily, wincing when when my foot hit the ground. The three men ran off with the Luna before I could say anything, before I could warn her. I wanted her to know that I never meant for things to go this far. When she first arrived, I knew immediately she was the one I was sent to take. And I tried, a million times to warn Rhylan. I tried to open my mouth and tell her that there was already a plan set in motion to take away her mate. Open my mouth. But my wolf stopped me every time.

I hear a scream in my head, but this time it's different. It's Rhylan.

'Alpha, she's gone.' My wolf replies before I can tell Rhylan she's been stolen. Stolen. Stolen.

I was just heading to the woods when Rhylan arrived. She shoved me against a tree. Her lips were open wide, and she was screaming, but I couldn't hear her. "She's gone," I whispered. She's gone. And then I laughed, because I couldn't do a damn thing about it. She's gone. I couldn't even open my mouth to tell Rhylan which way she went, either, because I couldn't say or do anything that went against my wolf's mission. She's gone. And all of a sudden I was crying, but it was too late because someone grabbed my arm, and then I was tumbling down flights of stairs, and then I was in a cell. And now it's cold. Cold.

Something changed a while ago. With my wolf, I mean. I used to be a devoted member of this pack. I would do anything I would do anything I would do anything for my alpha. I would. Cold.

And then I met my mate. Cold. And he was wonderful, wonderful. He was wonderful, and he convinced me to try this drug, and it was wonderful, it was. But it changed my wolf. Now, I have to listen to my wolf. Me. I have to listen to my wolf, to my wolf, a human, to a wolf. And my wolf listens to Him. Cold. The guy in charge. The guy that ordered me to help them infiltrate Rhylan's territory and kidnap my Luna, my Luna. My Luna.

Amaris. I'm sorry, sorry, I'm sorry.
