Friends Forever?

~Lumine's POV~
I've had this weird feeling inside me for a while now.
A few years ago I met Kody and I lived in the Neptune's Headquarters.
I still do, in fact. But growing up with Kody changed me.

I've been growing more quiet and even distant from everyone for a few months now.
I think Kody can sense it too, because he knocked on my door.
"Lumine? Can we talk?" He asked. When I didn't answer, he came in.

"What's up?" He asked tentatively. I rolled over on my bed. He sat down on the edge of my bed too. "What are you talking about?" I asked distantly.

"Lumine!" He said loudly. It surprised me and I looked at him in shock. He looked almost close to tears. "You can't lie to me!" He sniffed angrily. "I-I'm sorry, Kody!" I said, alarmed. When he didn't seem to stop crying, I awkwardly wrapped my arms around him.

He sobbed onto my shoulder. "I really am sorry, Kody. It's just that...I don't know, actually. I've been feeling strange and I didn't mean to ignore you," I said truthfully.

He finally stopped crying. "It's alright. I know how that probably feels for you. I shouldn't have gotten so angry at you," he said quietly.

"I guess...maybe it's because I feel like I'm growing towards you?" I said before realizing what I even said. "I mean, not like t-that!" I added quickly, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks.

Kody turned bright red. "Uh...n-no it's fine...it makes sense...maybe because you've seen me differently when I was younger?" He suggested.

I nodded, it made more sense now. "Yeah. That's it. I'm sorry to make you worried. I didn't mean like I LIKE you or anything...," I said.

Kody smiled. "I know what you mean. It's okay, I won't take it awkwardly," he said.

He stuck his pinky out. "Promise? We'll always be friends?" I felt my face burn up. "I thought you didn't like doing that!" I said. "Whatever. Friends?" He grinned a little. "Friends," I said, my cheeks growing even more red.
