~Lumine's POV~
"Wake up, Kody," I whispered. "No. I'm tired," Kody grumbled.
"We have to go!" I urged him. "You'll be late!""Lumine...you don't have to go today. I know you're scared," Kody said, getting out of bed.
"W-What?" I stammered. Honestly, I was nervous. Calla would probably laugh at my face."N-no! I'll go!" I said quickly. "If you're sure," Kody said, scanning over my face. I put a giant bandaid over the stitches so no one could see how ugly it looks.
I had to be careful walking, since my arm was in a sling. "Can we walk today?" I asked. Kody looked at me in disbelief. "Umm how are you gonna walk? You'll probably fall down on your face," he said. Gee, thanks for the support. Real help, Kody.
I was thinking about what Calla would do to me when I had skinny jeans, a grey T-shirt, and a yellow hoodie thrown in my face. "Okay bye," Kody said, pushing me out the door and slamming the door in my face.
I groaned and walked back to my room with the clothes. When I was changed, I headed downstairs for food. "There's waffles and strawberries!" Aiden said cheerfully. "How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Fine," I replied. Kody clomped down the stairs. "I'm starving," he said, piling about three waffles onto his plate and pouring syrup on. I sat down across from him, resting my chin in my hand.
"Are you gonna eat any?" Kody asked, his cheeks puffed up with waffle. "Nah. I'm not hungry," I said, shrugging. "Are you sure you're okay?" He asked, his expression becoming serious.
"Yeah," I reassured him. He gave me an uncertain look and ate his last bite of waffle. "Are you ready?" He asked. I nodded in response. We grabbed our backpacks and headed out the door. "Have a great day!" Aiden called.
"Bye!" We yelled back. "Do you want me to carry your bag?" Kody asked. "No, I'm okay," I replied. "If you're sure," Kody shrugged. Then he did something unexpected.
He grabbed my hand. I turned away quickly, feeling my face burn. "K-Kody?" I stammered. "Hm?" He looked down at our hands and quickly pulled away. "S-sorry!" He said, his face turning red as a tomato.
"It's okay...," I muttered. Wow, he held my hand!! I couldn't help thinking. I was really happy when we got on the bus. I still had the happy feeling even when we got off.
But a snicker disrupted my thoughts. "Ha! You really made him injured!" Calla's friend laughed. I bit my lip. "Shut up," Kody said emotionlessly. "What'd you say?" Calla said.
"Can you leave us alone?" Kody said, annoyed. "No," The girl said, grinning. Kody's emerald green eyes flared. Calla's did also. "Kody, don't!" I yelled. But he didn't listen. He sent jets of green light at Calla.
I turned into my wolf pup form and bit Calla as hard as I could. "What the-," she looked down at her bleeding arm. "You brat!" She kicked me. I eyed Kody on the ground, blood trailing out of his mouth.
"Kody...," I said faintly. Then everything turned black.
