Chapter 2: The transfer student

Soon the bell rang signaling the start of school. "I have a very important issue to discuss today so eyes front ears open. The correct way to fry an egg, sunny side up or down? come on Nakazawa I don't have all day." "You can fry it either way, can't you?" "Yes, precisely. Therefore it goes without saying that you should never judge a woman's beauty by the way she fries her eggs!" The teacher yelled before she snapped her pointer. "Remember girls, never associated with men who refuse to eat eggs sunnyside down." Soon Bobble turned towards Goggles and said "I guess it didn't work out." "Whatever gave you that idea?" The whole class sighed as the teacher continued "and you boys make sure you don't grow up to be men who complain as to how the darn eggs are cooked, understand?"

The teacher then cleared her throat. "Now with that out of the way, let's give a big warm welcome to our new classmate." "Maybe that should have come first," Bobble whispered to herself. "Come in Mr.Akemi, don't be shy." A boy with yellow-green tentacles walked in wearing the black inky rider over the school uniform. Everyone in the class started whispering, even Bobble commented on how he looked.

Goggles looked at the boy then silently gasped as he realized it was the same boy from his dream. "No way, it couldn't be..." he said quietly. "Why don't you tell the class a little about yourself." "I'm Rider Akemi. It's nice to meet you." The boy said in a monotone voice. The teacher then started to write his name on the board but got stuck on the first letter of his last name. Rider then turned around and finished it for her. The class then started to clap as they realized he was done introducing himself. The yellow-green inkling then looked over at Goggles which caused the blue inkling to get nervous. The teacher then laughed nervously "Uh...Mr.Akemi."

Soon it was break time and Rider was surrounded by other students. "What school did you go to before coming to this one?" "I went to a private school in Tokyo." "How about sports? Were you on any team?" "No, not really." Rider answered before he continued being questions. "There's something awfully mysterious about that boy, don't you think?" Prince said. "Hey Goggles, do you know that boy? He seemed to be glaring at you when he was at the front of the class." Bobble told Goggles. "Uh well, I'm not really sure." That's when Rider felt his head "I'm sorry, I think today's been a little stressful for me. I'm not feeling very well. May I please go to the nurses office?" "Yeah sure, if you want I can take you over there." "Good idea, can I come too?" "Please don't trouble yourselves. I'll ask the nurses aid to take me." He said before getting up and walking towards Goggles. The group of 3 inklings gasped when they noticed he was walking over. "Mr.Goggles Kaname you are the nurses aid for this class, are you not?" "Uh well... I uh..." "Would you please come with me to the nurses office?"

The two were now in the hallway walking to the nurses office. "Uh...how did you know I was the nurses aid for the class?" "Miss. Saotome told me that you were." "Oh, of course she did... by the way the nurses office is over to your..." Goggles trailed off as Rider turned to his left. "This way, right?" "Uh yeah, that's right but... so anyway how do you know your way there? I mean you're new here and all." Goggles asked as Rider remained quiet. "Uh...Mr.Akemi?" "Call me Rider." "Oh, Rider..." "What is it?" "Oh nothing, it's just an unusual name. But not in a bad way or anything I was thinking about how it was cool for a first name I mean."

Rider suddenly turned around and looked at the blue squid. "Goggles Kaname, do you treasure the life you currently live and do you consider your family and your friends precious?" Rider asked with a serious tone. "Wha- of course I do. I mean I do, my family and my friends I love them very much and yes they are very precious to me." "Do you mean it?" "Absolutely! I couldn't lie about that." Goggles exclaimed. "Good, because if that's the truth then you won't try changing the life you have or the person you are. Otherwise, you'd lose everything you love. Don't change, stay as you are Goggles. Stay as you are forever. The yellow-green inkling said before walking away leaving a confused Goggles.

The school day went on as usual with everyone being impressed by Rider and how good he was in his classes. Even the P.E. teacher commented by saying "Wow, he broke the record for every school in the city." Everyone surrounded him complimenting him as he glared at Goggles again who hid behind Bobble. Little did they know a creature was watching them from one of the plants outside of the school.
