Bobble was at the hospital again, talking to Headphones. "Really? Why aren't they letting you home yet?" The smiling female asked, confused. "I still have to finish the rehab for my legs. So, I can't really do anything until I can walk again." Headphones lifted up her arm slightly and clenched it. "Plus, everyone is still wondering how my hand healed as fast as it did. They're concerned about it. The doctors wanna run some more tests to find out why that is."
Bobble was lost in thought before coming back and asking "How are you feeling now Headphones? I mean, do you have any pain anywhere?" "No, it feels so good it's scary. Thinking about it and the accident almost feels like a bad dream now. It's weird, I wonder what I'm even doing in this bed." The wind blew through the window as Headphones kept talking. "It's just like what you said Bobble, it's a miracle." She then fell silent. The smiling female noticed and asked, "what's wrong?" "The other day, I said some awful things. I was really upset and it was wrong." "Forget about that stuff, it's no big deal. Your hands working again, you should be totally happy about that. So, don't make that face." "You're right, I guess it still feels like a dream." "Yeah...oh, it's almost time." This confused Headphones as Bobble continued "well, how about you and me go out for some fresh air.
The two were now in the elevator and Bobble put her finger to the screen and swiped it up for the roof. Headphones, who was now sitting in a wheelchair, was confused and asked "why are you taking me up to the roof?" "Don't worry, you'll see." They were silent on the ride up.
They got to the roof and saw Headphones' parents and the doctors and nurses. They clapped when they saw her. This surprised the female and 'caused her to ask "what's going on?" "We were going to have a party when you got out of the hospital but we figured since your hand's all better..." She trailed off as Headphones dad walked towards her holding something. "Is that....?" "I know you told me to get rid of it but couldn't throw it away." He told her as he opened the bag to show a keyboard with a stand. They bought it so she could practice her songs without having to use a grand piano. "Take it." Her dad said as she and Bobble set it up. They adjusted the height and Bobble stepped back after. Headphones stared at it before her father said "Go on, play something. Don't have to be afraid." She looked at him again before saying " 'kay" and put her fingers the keys and started to play.
They all listened to Headphones play. It was a calming song with some low notes to add to it, she seemed to be smiling as she played. 'Hey Specs, see that? My wish has been granted. You can rest easy now since there's no way I'll ever regret it. And right now, is the happiest moment of my life.' Bobble thought as Headphones finished and breathed out before smiling again. They all clapped as Headphones finished and looked at them real quick before doing a small head bow. Her parents then walked over and hugged her.
Meanwhile, Mask was watching from the distance. Instead of having on the gas mask he wears when in magical squid form, he was wearing a small white mask that only went over his mouth and nose. "So that's what the new magical squid in town looks like." He commented before taking a bite out of something. "You're not really going to pick a fight with her, are you?" "Sure, why not. She won't know what hit her, I promise. Why? What's up?" He asked as he let go of the binoculars and they turned back to normal as red magic swirled around it.
Mask then held up his soul gem as it glowed a bright red color "you got a problem with that or something?" "Not at all but it might not be as easy as you think, there is another magical squid in this city after all." "Oh really? So, what's their story?" "I'm not really sure about that," Kyubey told the cyan squid, who didn't like the answer he was given. "Huh? You've got to be kidding. If their a magical squid then they'd have to of made a contract with you right?" "You could say yes. You could also say no." The male looked to the side. "They're an irregularity on this word and I have no idea what they're capable of." The space ferret said as the squid smiled a bit, though you couldn't see it from under the mask. "Sounds too good to me. Getting kinda boring around here anyway." He then put a square-shaped sweet in his mouth. "Thought I'd shake things up, y'know what I'm saying?" He then walked away while Kyubey stared at him.
Meanwhile, Goggles was at the mall in a cafe with Rider. "You wanted to talk?" Rider asked in a questioning tone of voice. "Um... It's about Bobble and well... She might be stubborn and a little hypersensitive too, and maybe she kinda likes to argue a lot but she really is a wonderful person. She's kind-hearted and brave, and she's always ready to help someone if they need it!" Goggles told him. "Those are fatal flaws for magical squids." The taller squid told him after taking a drink. The other squids voice got hoarse before asking "oh, really?" "A person becomes naive if they're too kind, careless if they're too bold, and no matter how much you try to protect others there's no gratitude. Those who can't comprehend such things aren't fit to be magical squids. That's the reason why Specs Tomoe lost his life." Rider told the blue squid, who got angry at him. "Don't talk about him that way!" He yelled but then shook his head. "Anyway, Bobble says she'll be okay on her own but then when I think about Specs and how the same thing could happen to her, I just... I don't know what to do. I don't want to lose another one of my friends." He said as he mumbled the last part.
Rider sighed, not out of annoyance but out of sadness for the Goggles. "You're really worried about her, aren't you?" The taller squid asked which was responded with a nod as he said "I am but I can't do anything to help her all by myself. So I was thinking I could ask you to help her. Please be friends with Bobble and please don't fight with her like you did with Specs. If everyone can work together then when you go up to fight witches it'll be slot safer for everyone." This caused Rider to stop from taking another drink. The two boys stared at each other before Rider told him "I don't make a habit of telling lies and I don't make promises I can't keep. Therefore, you should forget about Bobble Miki." His yellow-green eyes pierced into the other male as he started to cry and ask "why should I?" "She shouldn't have been allowed to make the contract. I'm partly to blame for that. I should've looked out for her as I do for you." "When she-" "But, although I'm partly to blame you must understand that this is a mistake she can't undo or recover from. Once you become a magical squid there's no turning back. When we decide to make a contact, we give everything up in exchange for one single wish." "But then, does that mean you've given up Rider? On all the other people, even yourself? For real?" "Yes, I won't make any excuses for myself. No matter what sins I must bear, I will continue my fight to the end." Rider finished which left Goggles feeling sad. The taller male silently slides out of his seat, grabbing his bag that seemed to have a small charm that was in the shape of a diamond. "If I wasted your time, I'm sorry." He apologized and walked out, leaving his drink and Goggles in the cafe.
