DON'T YOU KNOW? GOING AHEAD DOESN'T MEAN YOU'D GET THERE FIRST, BABY

"My head hurts and I want to die," Vernon announced as he walked into the homeroom class.

"Well me too, you're not special," Mark groaned, cradling his head.

"What? Did you guys expect to be just dandy after downing five bottles of vodka?" Hyunjin scoffed, "I'm surprised you guys even made it to today alive."

"Holy shit, we still have to stay for the trials after school," I moaned, "Is it too late to reschedule?"

Taeyong smacked me on my arm, "You can't just deflate the juniors' excitement because your team's wasted. That's just being selfish now."

I pouted, "Fine fine. Has anyone checked to see if any of our top three signed up for the trials?"

Yoongi looked over from where he sat with his friends, "Yeah, Jeon Jungkook's name was on the sheet when I checked yesterday."

"I saw Jeno writing his name down this morning," Vernon supplied in, "He also wrote a bunch of names below his and i'm hoping Jaemin's one of them."

I grinned, "Looks like we might be striking the lucky draw this year."

"Or not. We need to put together a complete team and get at least three flexible replacements, remember?" Taeyong reminded, "Geez, I make a better Captain than you."

"Hey," I whined, "That was an invalid comparison."

Mark and Vernon winced at the sudden rise in volume and let out loud hush.

"Am I down for trial duties today?" Yoongi asked, looking towards Taeyong.

"Whole team is," I answered as Taeyong shrugged, "Coach is in today. Specific instructions for all to stay till he leaves."

Yoongi cursed under his breath, rolling his eyes.

"Do we get to skip lessons to scout members from the Juniors' P.E class?" Hyunjin perked up.

"If we have classses in that slot, I think we are allowed to," I scratched my chin, "But their class should be in your free period, though. So you don't exactly get to skip any lessons."

"No," Hyunjin screeched in despair.

Vernon and Mark clutched their heads fearfully, faces reflecting a sort of wild horror.

"Remind me never ever to drink again," Mark held up a finger before dozing back into his slumber.

"Trust me we all did," Hyunjin grumbled, "You still went ahead anyway. Fool."

"That's where you're wrong, Hwang. I am the whole circus," Vernon said miserably.

"Fool."
