ONE YEAR LATER
YEAR 3, GRADUATION PARTY

"Mark Lee?"

The dark-haired boy turned sharply at his ex-Math Teacher's voice, grinning.

"I heard that you got a scholarship to SNU (Seoul National University), congratulations!" Ms Kwon said cheerfully, patting the boy's shoulder.

The ash-haired boy beside Mark made a whiny noise. "Ms Kwon, what about me? I got one too." he pouted. "This is so unfair. You always favour Mark over the rest of us."

The short pale boy and the artfully anime-looking boy across the two basketballers raised their glasses to that.

"That is not true," A petite girl emerged from behind a very smug looking Vernon, making the ash-haired boy jump a feet. "Everyone knows I'm Ms Kwon's favourite." She slung an arm around the mentioned female teacher's shoulders, "Right, Ma'am?"

Ms Kwon smacked the girl's hand away lightly, "Whatever you say, Soyeon. Congrats on your acceptance into the Police Academy."

After the announcement the boys' eyes went as immobile as the rest of their face, as if news like that was impossible to be absorbed any faster. They were frozen for maybe three whole seconds before rising into an uproar

"Your- What?" A very stunned Mark spluttered.

"You?" Vernon wheezed, "Police Academy?"

"Since when did you..." Yoongi turned to the girl speechlessly.

Even the Chinese boy who'd been quietly sipping an awfully sparkly liquid out of his wine glass throughout the whole gathering lowered his glass.

"Why didn't you tell me that you applied to join the blues?" Lee Taeyong frowned down at the SNU Business School acceptance letter in his hands a little sadly. "I would have joined you."

The girl chuckled, shaking her head, "You don't even like them."

"It's hard not to, they are earning tax payers' money and doing absolutely nothing."

Ms Kwon cleared her throat, "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that."

"C'mon, Ms Yoon, it's true. Name me one useful thing the police has done. They couldn't even solve a simple disappearing case of Kim Taehyung and his mother from a year ago!" Mark spread out his arms to prove his point.

The Chinese boy a little away from him looked amused at the term 'disappearing' and he subtly snuck the girl across him a look.

"Aish, look at you. Forget it, I have to mark a few more assignments today. Sorry to ruin the mood, darlings. I'll be taking my leave now," the teacher smiled, then raised a hand to wave, "If you guys need any advice, feel free to come back to visit, yeah?"
