"Just coffee, please."

The waitress lifted one of her penciled brows. "You don't want anything to eat?" she asked. Her Busan accent was thick, and she sounded disappointed.

Lee Taeyong couldn't blame her; she'd probably been hoping for a tip better than the one she was going to get on a single cup of coffee. But he wasn't in the mood to pacify anyone right now. Irritated, he said firmly, "Just the coffee."

With a soft sigh, the waitress collected his laminated menu and went to enter his order. Taeyong sat back against the wooden cafe chair and looked around. There were glittery calligraphic murals papered on all four walls, and the place was pretty much screaming of 'basic girl' in every way possible, much to his dismay. He crinkled his nose to express his obvious disapproval, lowering his bucket hat even further to hide his face. Oh how much he hated the Kim heir right now.

Taeyong glanced towards the window. It was a brisk night, and the wind was blowing leaves across Neung-dong ro like handfuls of thrown confetti. There was a girl walking down the street heading to the cafe's direction, a girl in minimalistic trench coat, with long blonde hair that flew in the wind. Despite her simple wear, people still turned to watch her as she walked past. Taeyong had looked at girls like that in the past too, idly wondering where they were going, who they were meeting. Not troublesome guys like him, he knew that much.

Except this one was. The bell on the cafe's front door tinkled as the door opened, and Kim Soyeon came in. She smiled her usual billion dollar smile when she saw the boy and inclined her head, recognizing him instantly despite his best attempt at shadowing his face. She sauntered forward confidently, her tousled blonde curls frolicking as she marched in. The lights seemed to dim as if her presence diminished them. Shrugging off her outerwear, she dropped into the seat across him, flipping her hair behind her with one hand. "You look terrible."

Soyeon twisted her body to drape her coat over the back of her seat before turning back to her blonde friend with her signature sunny grin. Under her coat, she was wearing one of what she typically would in school; a pair of fbt shorts and a heavily oversized jersey top. It was a Gangwon Academy jersey. Taeyong vaguely remembered the uniformed white team blazing through his own just a few months ago. It was a horrible memory, and how his Captain could put their jersey on without a second thought made him feel a little affronted. That's how close she and the Dong scoundrel got. The boy grinded his jaw together sourly. But he had to admit, she looked good. No matter what Soyeon wore, she drew attention and adoration like a fireworks display. She is not the beautiful Kim Seokjin's little sister for nothing, after all.
