"The test was not supposed to be difficult, but someone managed to fail the paper again," My Chemistry teacher eyed me specifically.
She let out a sigh, "But it's alright. I expected it."
My classmates let out a low 'ooh', some of them gave me sympathetic glances. I smiled sheepishly.
"You guys can always come for consultations if you have any problems doing your work, you know. I repeated this too many times before," she harrumphed, staring at me directly, "And having Season Finals right before a test isn't a valid excuse to flung tests, by the way. Your seniors have tried pulling that card too many times."
The class giggled. Those snakes.
"How bad of a fail was it?" I inquired, ears turning red.
My teacher paused, "Very bad."
"Above 30 percentile?"
"Isn't that a little too low of an expectation?" she frowned at me, "All my students are supposed to be distinction students! Asians not Fsians!"
"So it's above?" I infered.
"Since you're so excited to know, you can have your paper first," she held out my script to me.
Do I actually want to know?
I took the script from her hands anyway.
Ah. 45%. I was close enough, I suppose. Running a hand through my hair, I snapped a picture of my grades and sent it to Mark. His response was almost immediate.
mark: as expected haha ((sniggering))

I turned off my phone and gazed depressingly at my test paper. It wasn't surprising considering that I understood nothing about Chemistry, but I still felt a little pang of disappointment. Yuqi turned to look at me comfortingly from the front of the class, raising her 50% grade paper in attempt to comfort me.
The paper was really difficult, she mouthed, don't worry, you'd do better next time.
A small smile ghosted across my lips. This girl is honestly so sweet.
"I think it's a basketballer thing to do poorly for Chemistry," my teacher had stopped at my table to speak to me, "I heard Hwang Hyunjin from the class beside us got a single digit percentile for the same test, and Lee Taeyong completely dropped the subject last month."
