OF FRAUDULENT AND DECEIT

"Ms Kim, i understand that you're traumatised from your little adventure to the jail, but please, this homework was due a two weeks ago!"

I laced my fingers together, leaning forward with the most pitiful expression i could muster, "But Ms Yoon, i was knocked-out sick the week before! Trust me, i was really trying to do your homework during that period of time. My body just said 'no'. I'm sorry, ma'am."

My Chemistry teacher rubbed her temples in exasperation, "That worksheet was given a month ago, there was plenty of time given for you to complete it. Why didn't you do it earlier?"

I opened my arms good-naturedly with a wining smile.

"Well you see, i am a firm believer of 'wisdom comes with age', hence by doing things at the final moment, i can be assured that i am at my wisest when i complete the assignment and therefore removing the room for regrets. What more, my answers would all be correct and so your life would be made easier! Just one full tick across the paper. It's a win-win situation, isn't it?"

I swear i heard Sicheng chuckling from across the lab.

"You're scammingly persuasive, i hate it," Ms Yoon said after a long pause. "It'll be a huge shame if you don't pursue business as a career in the future."

"Are you trying to say that all businessmen do is scam?" i gave her a scandalized look, "Because you're absolutely right, i agree."

"Kissing my ass now, aren't you?" she shook her head, repressing a smile. "You're unspeakable. I want my worksheet handed-up by tomorrow." Her eyes narrowed sharply. "And it better be entirely completed. Without a single question wrong."

I opened my mouth to negotiate, only to be slammed down by the sweet woman's steely gaze. Truly, the more beautiful the serpent, the more fatal its sting. William Scott Downey knew exactly what was up.

"Right," i mumbled.

The chuckling increased in volume and at this point, I swear that stupid boy was just mocking me already.

"I wouldn't be laughing if i were you, Mr Dong. You too owe me homework," Ms Yoon said sternly. "I will not hesitate to put you in detention the next time you hand up an empty worksheet."

"Damn," I sniffed in disdain, casting the said boy an envious glance. "I can't believe she let you get away with that at all. She sent me for detention for a whole week last year when i did the exact same thing. Must be nice being a hot guy."

"There are perks," the Chinese boy agreed thoughtfully. "But there are cons as well, for example, having many admirers."

"You're just flexing now," i complained. "Most people would kill to be in your position, honey, just so y'know."
