Xavier's POV

Carnia acted weirdly all of a sudden. Yes I did stalk her but I did that so she wouldn't have the idea of leaving me. Its getting on my nerves seeing her not as energetic as she use to, on the ride home she didn't say a word unless I ask her something and she would reply back with a simple yes no or a nod.

She walks in the house first as I follow behind texting my assistant to check what happened at the hospital.

"My mother will come tomorrow if you don't mind---"

"Don't worry I know what to do" she gave a light smile and headed out room.

*Ring ring*

"Did you find any sort of information?"

"Sir I'm sorry but her information is private and i cant look into it since the hospital doesn't allo---" I hang up frustrated, what on earth could have happened to make her in such a mood?

Maybe she will forget about it, maybe it's not that serious, and she was just tired. I walked into the room finding Carnia sleeping on her side of the bed, i laid next to her ready to rap my hands around her she sat up and handed me her pillow.

"Carn---"

"Xavier you have a pillow why do you have to hug me?"

"Carnia what the fuck is wrong?"

"I'm completely fine Xavier, can we please keep our distance, I'm tired I need to sleep."

Right then and there I felt pushed away and hurt, just when I thought we could have a chance to be back together she acts cold and distant... I guess she will just slowly get out of her comfort zone.

Next morning I look to the side with no one there, I take a shower and walk down stairs smelling the most delicious smell I have ever smelt. I go into the kitchen seeing carnia cooking and my mother sitting at the breakfast table.

"Hey honey seems like you found yourself the most amazing woman to soon be your wife."

"Hey mum how's everything?" I give her a light kiss and sat down with her.

"Nothing much, btw she is so polite and we'll mannered I do want her to be my daughter in law... What's her name?"

Flash back

Back when I was in college, I called carnia but it would go straight to voice mail, I called for 100 times and realised she left me, from that day onwards I kept drinking and not go to college. My mother soon found out why I became who I became, and she said

"I never want to see her even if I haven't seen her before, I never want someone like her to be my daughter in law! What can she see in other men that my son doesn't have?"

End of flash back

"Mum no matter what I say you need to keep calm and I'll explain everything, her name is Carnia."

"Son, is she the one that broke your heart?, No I object"

"Mum lower your voice, the thing is she didn't leave me because she wanted to break my heart but because she got into a car crash and lost her memory"

"Does she know? Like about you from before?"

"No, I don't want to, I want to start a fresh start with her mum, but I need your cooperation"

"What is it son I'll help you no matter what" ;D

"I lied to her saying I need her to be my pretend wife to please you since your going to die soon and----"

"Son I can't believe you said that." My mothers face looked so shocked and hurt.

"Mum but if I didn't do so she wouldn't be here beside me"

"I understand you son but you need to tell her instead of letting her finding out" she said patting me on the back.

"Foods ready" carnia yells as she enters with 3 plates of scrambled eggs on toast with a pumpkin soup on the side.

We ate and talked to each other like a family, my mother seemed so please with carnia since carnia knew exactly how to talk formally around elder people.

"Well son I have to head home, goodbye honey and goodbye carnia"

"Goodbye " we both day and we shut the front door. Carnia then heads straight up stairs.

"Carnia where are you going?"

"I'm going to change I need to head out----"

"I'm coming with you!" I say taking large steps to get Infront of her to change as well.

We get into the car and I ask her where are we heading to and she says to the hospital. This is my only chance to find out what's wrong with carnia. As we arrive she tells me to stay here as she will be quick but I insisted to come along.

"Hello ms Sunny your here for the prescription?"

"Yes I am"

"This way please"

Prescription? Why would she need prescription for? I pull back the nurse that was talking to carnia...

"What is the prescription for?"

"What are you towards the patient?"

"I'm her boyfriend"

"I'm sorry but you don't yet have the right to know unless ms Sunny confirms to let you know"

Son of a bitch, I knew I should have said husband but I felt a little awkward if carnia finds out so I let it slide. I'll just find the perscription when she's in the shower...
