Part Seventeen

A month later
Veronica's POV

So Betty and I have been together for a month. We both are pretty sure the two guys are jealous. Archie and still with Josie. Jughead, he dated a two girls for like a week then he broke up with them. They both kept coming to ours houses at leaset once or twice a week. It got started to get annoying. I mean nothing really happened at all that is important... well maybe one thing.

Betty and I have been arguing over the littlest things. Jughead once came over and said that he found me kissing someone else right outside of school, bet Betty didn't believe that cause we walk home with each other every day, except one day when her mom picked her up. I mean she said she knew he was lying but she made a big deal about it at first so I don't know what was happening then.

After that it's just been fighting over the stupidest thing. I don't even remember the things because I didn't like arguing with her. Everytime she we argued she would leave then show up a couple of hours later saying how sorry she was.

I also noticed something was off about her. She seemed a bit jumpy and fidgety. I definitely notcied it when we were at school cause we were fine at school. She would be fine till lunch.

Somtimes she was late to lunch with not a lot of food on her plate. Or she would leave in the middle of lunch and throw her food she didn't eat away. She was getting paler. She was getting more distant from not only me, but from everyone.

She walked away today at lunch and Kevin looked at me. "Have you notcied how she looks a lot paler and more distracted than normal?" I nodded. "I'm not the only one who's notcied that." He shook his head. "No. Is there something going on between you two?" He asked. I shrugged. "She's been starting random fights over the littlest things and it worries me. I just like we are ending up like me Archie did. Getting further and further away from each other." I sighed holding back tears. "Veronica you should go talk to her." He said. I nodded and sighed. "Yet your right. I'll be right back." I told him and left

I walked as fast as I could into the girls bathroom. I notcied Betty in one of the stalls crying. "Betty are you okay?" I asked. She looked at me with tears streaming down her face. "It's nothing go away!" She yelled. I sighed and sat next to her. "No, Betty somethings wrong and I'm worried about you." She wiped her tears away. "I'm not talking to you." I tried holding back tears. "Betty, I'm worried and your my girlfriend which makes it so much worse." "Makes what so much worse? Huh?" I let a tear roll down my face. "Are you serious right now?" I asked. She sighed. "Just leave me alone I don't feel like fighting right now." I nodded. "Okay." Still holding back tears.

I walked back to the lunch table with Kevin still sitting there. "Where's betty?" He asked. "She's in the bathroom still." I told him. He must have notcied I was upset. "Is everything okay?" He asked. I nodded. "With who?" "Both of you." I sighed. "No and no." He sighed and looked down then back at me. "What's wrong with you?" He asked coming and sitting by me. "I'm fine. Nothing's wrong. But there's something wrong with Betty I know." "Wait are you two over?" He asked. I shook my head. "Honestly I don't know. She is completely and utterly disturbed." It was quiet. "Hey I'm going start heading to class the bells about to ring." He nodded. "Okay."

The rest of the school day was boring. I got home and started on my homework. Not to long after there was a knock at the front door. I got up and opened it. "Yes?" I said as I saw Betty. She didn't say anything She just kissed me. I kissed back, but I was confused. She pulled away and just looked at me. "Betty?" I asked. "Can I come inside?" She asked. I nodded and moved for her to come inside. She came inside. I shut the door and turned to look at her. She looked down. "I'm sorry Vee." She said. I could only think if the worst, she was breaking up with me. I sighed. "What do you mean?" I asked holding back tears. "I'm sorry for how I acted earlier." I let out a tiny sigh of relief. "I didn't mean anything. Can you forgive me?" She asked. I nodded and smiled a bit. She come closer to me. "Thank you." "Your welcome." She pulled me closer to where are faces were inches away from each others. "Are you busy?" She asked with a smile. I smiled at her. "I was doing homework other than that no." I said. She looked at me for a second then kissed me passionately. I put my hands on her waist which felt smaller than normal. I pulled away. "Bedroom?" She asked. I nodded.

We went upstairs and into my room. We started to take each others clothes off. I notcied when I was taking off her clothes how baggy they were on her. She kissed me again. I didn't notcie anything till I pulled away to take her shirt off. She knew I was looking at her body, which was really thin. I gasped a little. I looked back at her face and she looked away from me. I put my hand under her chin and made her look at me. "Betty?" I sighed. It was quiet. "How long?" I asked. She was quiet for a second. She grabbed both of my hands. "This whole month." She said. I sighed and just looked at her. She started crying. "I'm sorry Vee. I was just so depressed and I still am a little. I thought I wasn't good enough and that I wasn't skinny." I just looked at her confused. "I thought I was fat and worthless." She said. I pulled her into a hug. "No, your not fat and your not worthless. Your amazing and unique." I told her. She pulled out of a hug and looked at me. "Thanks Vee I needed that." "Does your mother know?" I asked. "Do you think she knows?" I shook my head. "No." She looked down. "Hey we don't have to tell her today. We can do it tomorrow." She smiled weakly. "Okay." We layed down and just talked for a while.
