Part Twenty-seven

Two weeks later
Veronica's POV

Betty and I haven't talked in a couple of weeks. I cried almost everytime I thought of her. I hate myself for what I did. I think after that she's not coming back like ever. I am home alone and nothing very good is happening. I decided to go to Pop's to get a milkshake.

When I got to Pop's it was mainly empty. Other than a few other kids at school. I got a milkshake and just sat there by myself. After a few minutes the bell rung. I looked back to see who it was, but before I could they were gone back out of the door. I wasn't sitting by the window so I had no idea who it was.

Betty's POV

I woke up at four. I couldn't go back to sleep no matter how hard I tried. I felt like I needed to go back to Riverdale. To see all my friends Archue and Jughead and Kevin, but then I remem- bered Veronica. How am I going to see her. Especially if I go back to school and also where would I stay. I mean yea Kansas was fine yea whatever. (I take offense.) I just wanted to go to the place I grew up and the place I have friends. I got up and got dressed. I didn't want to wake up my mom so I didn't eat anything. I grabbed my phone and looked around to see if I needed anything. I got on my phone and looked to see if I could find any flights from Derby to Riverdale. I found one that I could get which left in two hours, but I had to go to Wichita and I saw was a thirty minute drive. I knew I couldn't take the car or my mom would know. I grabbed and paper and a pen to tell what I was doing.

I'm gone like you've noticed. I'm going back to Riverdale. I can't stay with you anymore. I have to see my friends again. I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I will figure it out.

I out that note on the pillow and left. I walked for about ten minutes when I made it to a bus stop. I waited another ten minutes. After like twenty minutes or so I finally got to Wichita. I looked at the time. 4:45. I asked the bus driver where the nearest airport was and they said it was ten minutes that way walking. I nodded. "I could just drive you there if you want." I nodded again. "I'm good thank you though." I said and got off the bus. It was starting to get a little lighter. I walked the exact way the bus driver pointed to.

About ten or fifthteen minutes later I got to the airport. It was full. This is going to be great. It went through it like you normally would chaotic. I was glad when I finally got on the plane at 6:38. Before anything happ- ened my phone buzzed. I looked at it, it was my mom.

Mom

Where are you?

I'm on the plane right now to Riverdale. I can't text anymore I'm about to leave. I put my phone on airplane mode and put it back into my pocket.

The whole plane ride was normal. As a direct flight it would 3 hours long. I guess I get to sit here for three hours and do nothing.

Over three hours later

I was relieved when I finally landed in Riverdale. When I left the airport I was glad to have fresh air. It was now nine or in Riverdale it was ten. I wanted something to eat so I went to Pop's. When I got there I could tell just from the outside that it was almost empty. When I walked inside I imme- diately saw Veronica so I left as soon I walked in. I mean I don't need to eat anyways right?

I hope she didn't notice me. I don't know where to go. I mean I could go to Kevin's, but he may call Veronica. Or Archie's because I don't want to get in his way with shit in his life. Or Jughead I think he'd be fine with it. I mean even though we are friends I still can't forgive him for what he did to me. I can't go to Veronica's because well that'd be weird. That leaves only one person technically two, but whatever. I guess I have to go to Cheryl's. I have no idea how I feel about this.

When I got to Cheryl's and Toni's house it was almost noon. I knocked and a few minutes later Toni opened the door. "Oh my god! Betty?!" She said and hugged me. What the hell is happening? She pulled out of the hug. "Where the hell have you been?" She asked and pulled me inside. So this is starting out better than I thought. "I uhh--" I was stopped. "Toni who was at the do--" cheryl started, but stopped when she saw me. "Cousin?" She said. I just put a small little smile on my face. "Where have you been?" She asked walking over to me. "With my crazy mother." I told her. She just looked at me. I could feel Toni was looking at me to. "Well what are you doing here?" Toni asked. I looked at her. "My mom is still back in Kansas--" Wait you where in Kansas?!" Cheryl asked. I sighed. "Yep! Now I need a place to stay because my mom is still back in Kansas." I told them. "Well of course you can stay here, but why can't you go to Veronica's?" Cherly asked. I looked down. "We uhh she broke up with me." I said. "Oh Betty I'm sorry." Cheryl said. I nodded. "It's fine so can I stay here?" I asked. "Yes, of course." Cheryl said and took me to an empty room
