Part Twenty

A month later
Betty's POV

"I'm finally free!" I said grabbing my bag. "From here, but your not free from me." Veronica said looking over at me. I sighed and smiled a little. "I forgot." She smiled. "You not getting rid of me anytime soon." She said. I rolled my eyes just to annoy her. "I don't even know why my mom said I could stay with you." I said trying to hide my smile. "Are you saying you don't love me?" She said sarcastically. I looked at her. "Shut up! You know that's not true." I said and smile got bigger. She sighed and got closer to me. "I know I was joking. And your mom trusts me that's why." She said. "That's true." I said. "Can we go now?" I asked. She nodded. "Yes we can." She grabbed my hand we walked outside to the car.

When we got back to the Pembrooke I just put my bag in the corner of her room. "You hungry?" Veronica asked as we walked back downstairs. "Uhh no." I told her. Which was the truth. "To back your eating." She said. I knew this was gonna happen. "V, I said I'm fine. Besides I'm getting better. Just because I say I'm not hungry that doesn't mean anything. I know your worried." She sighed and turned to look at me. "I know. And I know you know I'm worried about you. It's just everything that's happening is so scary." She said. I started tearing up. "Yea it is, it was." I reassured. "Don't cry your gonna make me cry." She started tearing up. We both smiled. "Why are we crying?" She asked. "I don't know." I said and hugged her. She hugged me back. I pulled out of the hug and looked at her for a second then kissed her. She pulled away and sighed. "Food. Your eating. What do you want?" She said. I sighed. "Fine. Whatever. Just get something." I told her. "Let's go to Pop's." She said. I nodded. "Yea okay."

When we got to Pop's we just order some fries and milkshakes. We talked for a little bit. About ten minutes later the boys -by that I mean Archie and Jughead- came in. We looked at them and they looked at us. They started walking over to us. "Should we leave?" Veronica Whipsered to me. "No." I said. "What?" "Just don't move."

A and J: Hi.
V: Archie, Jughead, what do you want?
A: To applogize
B: What?
J: Yep. We both feel terrible and we want our normal friend group back
V: We would like that too if you two weren't suck assholes
A: We know we were and we're sorry we already said this.
J: Like I said we want our normal friend group back
B: Do you know how awkward that would be for all of us.
A: Yes, we do
V: Then why do you want to do it
A: To see if things go back to Normal
B: Okay how many times are you guys going to say normal?
J: To much
A: Till thing ago back to normal

He chuckled and so did Jughead. I tried not to laugh.

B: That's not funny
J: Yes, it is
V: Okay are we done with this normal thing?
B: No

I said quietly, but they all could hear me. They all looked at me.

A: Listen, Betty, I want to know--

I cut him off.

B: Why I did what I did?
A: Yea
V: I don't think we should talk about this right now.
B: It's fine, V.

I said and grabbed her hand on the table.

V: Okay
B: I felt like nothing..... I don't know how else to put it
J: I'm sorry I kinda blame myself for it
B: Why would it be your fault.
J: I have no clue

He said with a small laugh. We all started laughing.

A: I think our friend group is back together
V: Yea, I think it is.
J: But now there is only one couple in that group

I looked at Veronica and smiled.

B: Yep!
V: Hey you two should get together!
J: Oh no... don't..... don't be like my mother
V: Wait what
A: Yea, when Jughead and I left after I broke up with you we went to Toledo and his mom said something about us being together
B: That's to funny
J: No, it's not
V: Yes, it is!
A: How have you two been?
B: We've been great.
V: Yea
J: Have you guys fought at all
V: why is this any of your business.
J: Hey woah I just want to know more about your relationship

Veronica laughed.

V: I was kidding. Yea, we've fought before. It's a normal thing people do
A: Sorry to ask this, but have you guys like broken up then got back together secretly.

I looked at Veronica.

B: Have we?
V: I don't know. I don't think we have.
J: And how long have you two been together?
B: Four or five months?

I said, but was kins of asking Veronica at the same time.

V: Something like that.
A: Wow you two don't even know how long you've been together
B: Nope!
J: That's kinda sad
B: Yea it kinda is

We all talked and laughed for what seemed like hours when it was really only and hour and a half.

V: We better get going.
A: We?
B: Yea, my mom is making me stay with Veronica.
A: Well why can't you be at home?
B: Dunno will have to ask my mother.
J: Alright Bye
V: Bye
B: Bye
