When the gig was over, I was sweating like a pig in heat, so I wet a towel and ran it over my face and on my neck.

"Good show tonight." The voice came suddenly and I jumped up, smacking myself in the face with my towel.

"Fuck," I cursed, and looked up.

An extremely attractive boy was standing in front of me, his golden hair messy over his eyes - which I couldn't see very well, due to the sweat falling in my eyes.

"Hi," he said, smiling.

I was acutely aware of the way my hair was sticking to my forehead due to sweat, and wondered if he noticed.

"Um, hi." I muttered.

"You're the drummer?"

"Uh, yeah. That's kinda why I was on stage smacking sticks against drums."

"Oh. Yeah." He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'm a drummer too, you know."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Me and a few of my mates are in a band."

I nodded. "That's cool."

"Do you wanna go do something?" He blurted.

"What?" I asked, taken aback.

"You know, if you don't have anything else to do... Do you want to go hang out?"

I nodded, giving him a slight smile. "Sure. What did you have in mind?"

"Um, we could go see a movie." He suggested.

“I guess… But I don’t really know you.”

“You could get to know me.”

I grabbed his wrist and said, "Well then, let's go, Little Drummer Boy."

I yanked the boy behind me and out of the bar.

He stopped me outside the door and stuck out his hand. "I'm Ashton."

I shook his head and said, "I'm Jade. It's nice to meet you."

"Likewise. Now let's go see that movie." He grinned brightly and I wondered how he could do that so easily.

Ashton grabbed my hand and enveloped it in his large one and yanked me beside him, walking down the street, smiling at the propel walking past.

"It really was a good show." Ashton said.

I nodded meekly. "Thank you. I'm glad you think so."

"You're really talented."

"Oh, um, thanks." Color flushed my cheeks. I wasn't used to people complimenting me, much less attractive boys complimenting me.

"No problem," he winked. "So I assume the guitarist is your brother?" Ashton said, still walking along the sidewalk.

I nodded. "Yeah, that's Johnny."

"How long have you guys been in a band together?"

I shrugged. "A couple years. We've been playing since I was sixteen."

"And how old are you now?"

"Nineteen. How old are you?"

"Just turned twenty," he said proudly.

"An older man," I said, nodding my head slightly.

He chuckled and we fell into a comfortable silence and I noticed that my hand was still in his. I discreetly tried to slide mine out, but he just tightened his grip. This guy was hot and everything but he was kind of coming on fast and I wasn’t sure about it.

"What do you want to see?" Ashton asked me once we reached the theater.

I shrugged. "I'm good with whatever."

Ashton grinned. "You shouldn't have said that."
