"Have you even thought about going to college?" Johnny asked me, playing a few experimental chords on his guitar, Bertha.
I sighed. "Of course I've thought about it. I just don't think it's for me. It wasn't for you." I pointed out.
"Yes. But at least I tried. Why not just take a few classes at the community college?"
I groaned. "I don’t know, Johnny. I was never really into school.”
“Okay, I won’t push it. But you should at least think about it.”
I nodded.
Johnny and I were currently in what we called The Den. It was where we practiced most of the time, and it was the most used room of the house. Besides the kitchen, of course.
"How about adding in a riff right there?" I suggested, making a little note on the side of my paper.
"Like this?" Johnny showed off and played a little riff on his guitar and smiled at me.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, Johnny. Like that. No need to show off."
"Should we just repeat the chorus after that then?"
I nodded. "That sounds fantastic." I marked it down on my paper then looked up at my brother.
"I think we're done." He said, smiling.
I felt a smile make an appearance on my lips as well. "I think we are."
“What’s your guess? I’m going with Greenday.”
“Mmmm.” I considered the day before when I was listening to Fall Out Boy. I smirked and answered Johnny, “I’m thinking Fall Out Boy.”
Johnny ran to the stereo system and pressed play, Patrick Stump’s voice reverberating through the room.
“Damn.” Johnny frowned. “You win again. How about you let me off the hook for the ten bucks this time?”
“Fuck you, I need that money to buy that Spiderman poster I saw at WalMart.”
