I watched in disgust as Michael grabbed a chip, stuffed it in his mouth, then sprinkled the excess crumbs over the bowl.
He noticed me staring and stuck the bowl out in my direction.
"Want some?"
I shook my head. "No thanks."
"Suit yourself." He went back to his chips.
I leaned back against the couch just as Michael leaned forward, so I could see Ashton.
He was looking at me and grinned when he noticed me looking at him.
I smiled in return.
Is this going to be weird? I wondered. Is our friendship going to be hurt because of that kiss? Or are we going to date? Who am I kidding, he wouldn't date me. I brushed off my stupid questions and sighed.
"I should probably get home." I mumbled. "It's been a long day."
Michael laughed. "Yeah, meeting the asshole who took away your virginity is pretty tiring."
I rolled my eyes. "Dude, Michael, how many times to I have to tell you it's fine and I don't blame you?"
"Probably a few more before I'll believe you."
I rolled my eyes. "Mikey, it's fine. I'm going to go home now. I'll see you all later." I quickly left the two boys in the apartment.
I called Johnny to ask him for a ride home. "Johnny?" I said when he answered the phone. "Can you give me a ride home?"
"Where are you?"
"I was at my..." I wasn't sure what to call Michael. We'd already surpassed being acquaintances by having sex. "Friend's house."
"You have friends?" He joked.
"Shut up, fucktard."
"Hey! That is no way to address the person who is about to drive you home!"
I rolled my eyes and mumbled a sorry.
"It's okay. I'll come get you in a second. What's the address?"
I relayed the numbers I had asked Michael for earlier an hung up the phone.
"Jade?"
I turned to see Ashton coming out of Michael's apartment, shutting the door behind him.
"Hi."
"Do you need a ride home?" He asked.
I shook my head. "No, Johnny's coming to get me."
"Oh. Okay." He nodded, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Thanks for letting me meet Michael."
"Technically, you already met Michael," Ashton muttered.
I let out a humorless laugh and took a step towards Ashton. "But I don't really remember that encounter."
Ashton pouted. "But still.”
With him being so forward, I wasn't sure what to do. I just went with my gut and stood on the tips of my toes, pressing my lips to Ashton's for a few quick seconds. As I tried to pull away, he grabbed me around the waist and pulled me against him, kissing me harder.
The moment was ruined by my cellphone ringing. I pushed away from Ashton and saw a text from Johnny, saying he was there.
"I'll text you later," I mumbled breathlessly.
"You'd better."
As I caught my breath, I did something completely out of character, yet I liked it. I winked and headed down the hall, calling behind me. "Bye, Little Drummer Boy!"
