The rest of the date was... boring. I think Ashton knew that as well.
We spent fifteen more minutes eating and making small talk before heading back to his car. He drove me home and walked with me up to the porch.
"The date was... nice," I said, meaning it.
"I know it was kind of boring," Ashton chuckled. "But I kinda just wanted to get to know you a little bit better. Don't worry, the next one will be much more enjoyable."
"How do you know there's going to be another one?"
Ashton smirked. "Oh, I know."
I laughed. "You're probably right."
"Is it acceptable to kiss you on the first date?" Ashton asked.
"Considering we've kissed before, I would assume that's fine."
He leaned in and kissed me softly on the lips, holding my cheek in his hand.
"I'll text you later, Jade."
"Bye, Ash."
