Chap#32

Elaine's POV;

"Please don't cry. What happened?" I said as I tried to comfort her

"He won't even look at me. I tried so much to get his attention. Am I really so bad that he lost interest in me?" She said as her voice started breaking up

"No, there's nothing wrong with you. I'm sure he has a really good reason." I said

"You think so? I miss him. Does he miss me? Because I really miss him. I never wanted things to end this way." She said

"I'm sure he misses you." I said. I wasn't trying to give any false hope, but I was sure that he missed her. I mean when you are together with someone for so long, you are bound to miss that person, right?

"You know, he said that he was moving on. He's moving on!" She said as she broke down in tears 

"Huh? When did he say that?" I said

"He...we talked. Today, at the mall. I told him that I got a job at his company. I didn't mean any harm by it, but he said that welcome to the company, ma'am." She said

"Ma'am?" I asked

"Yeah, it's because I will be his senior. But I didn't intend it to be that way. The only reason I got this job was to be..." she said

"Close to him." I finished her sentence

"But he just ignores me. What should I do, Elly?" She said

"Don't worry. I'm sure he will talk to you. If he doesn't, I will make him talk to you." I said

"Thanks. But I don't want you to force him. Also, sorry. I kind of took Atlas away from you during these two days. I just wanted to grab his attention. But I should know, Atlas is his friend so he wouldn't get jealous. You know, that's why I told him I was going out with someone. But he said that's good. And you know...he actually gave his blessing! Who does he think he is? My father?! I don't want his blessing, I....want him..." She said

"It's okay. Don't cry. I have a feeling he'll come back to you!" I said as I patted her head

She looks at me and then I pull my hand back and said, "Oh sorry. Actually my mother used to pat my head when I got sad."

"Thanks, Elly. You're so nice. I really needed someone to talk to! I was first going to go to Atlas, but he isn't good with these kind of things." She said as she smiled slightly

"I'm glad you came to me." I said as I thought I should do something about this. It isn't right. How long are they going to pretend that they don't want to be together? This is so wrong. It needs to be fixed.

"It's late. I should go sleep." She said as she got up

"Okay. Good night." I said

"Oh by the way, you were going to check up on Atlas before, right?" She said as I nodded

"I knew it. Well, Goodnight." She said as she then left

Okay so, something has to be done. Those two just need to talk to each other. I was still thinking when suddenly Atlas came inside holding his laptop.

"Good you're here! We need to do something!" I said

"Huh?" He said confusingly

"Okay so you need to talk to Mike" I whispered as he sits next to me

"About what?" He asked as he opens his laptop and starts typing something

"About how he feels about Kate." I said

"Yeah no. He doesn't talk about that." He replied

"Oh come on, you guys must talk about things like this, right? You guys must have a bro talk or whatever, right?" I said which made him laugh

"Bro talk?" He asked as he laughs

"You know what I mean." I said

"Okay and what will happen if he tells me about his feelings. Then what?" He asked as he uses his laptop

"Okay, so listen to me carefully." I said as he closes the lid of his laptop and then looks at me, which makes me blush.

"Here's what we need to do..." I said as we both then started talking about Mike and Kate. It was fun talking to Atlas, even though it was about others, but still, I was having fun.
