Mike's POV;
It has been a few months after I reconciled with Kate. The girl who is the love of my life and whom I feel like I don't deserve. Her father is a really strict man and he wants someone like a doctor or someone who's an owner of some multinational company for his only daughter. And I don't blame him for that. There's no harm in wishing good for your child. But I love Kate and she loves me too and that's what I believe is all that matters. A month ago, her father kind of approved of our relationship. I don't really know what to think. But he has started talking to me a lot more and last week he even invited me to play golf with him. So I think that's a good thing.
Kate is someone whom I need in my life because she's the light that helps me through the dark. She's always encouraging me and motivating me and she helps me deal with all my insecurities. She makes me love life in ways I never would've imagined. And that is why I have decided that I want to spend the rest of my life together with her. Because the time we spent apart during our break up was terrible. And that made me realise that you should cherish the things you have before they're gone.
Even though I have decided to propose to her, the problem is I don't know how to do it. Kate really loves to go extra in surprises and things like these while I'm kind of chill. But it is exactly because she loves things like these that I want to do something that's special and perfect. So since I have no clue about it, I asked Atlas to ask Elaine about it in a roundabout way so that I'll have some clue about what to do. Elaine and Kate have become really great friends and she is Atlas's wife. But today Atlas called me over at his house.
I was on my way there when I ran into Zach and he decided to tag along.
When I got there Atlas opened the door as he invited us in. We went inside and sat in the lounge while we talked and chatted about various thing. Elaine joined us as well. Atlas and I started talking about out work until Elaine and Zach groaned and banned us from talking about anything related to work. Can't help it if we both are workaholic.
"Mike, Atlas told me you had something to talk to me about. What is it?" Elaine asked as I looked at Atlas thinking why didn't he ask her. I don't want Elaine telling Kate about my plans before I even surprise her. Although I'm sure she is not the type to do that but still, the less people who know about it, the better.
"Don't look at me like that. I tried asking but she found out." Atlas said as he shrugged
"What is going on? Ask about what?" Zach asked as he was the only clueless person in this room
"I...am gonna ask Kate to marry me." I said as I smiled
"I knew it. So you want some help about how to do that, right?" Elaine said as she smirked
"Well yeah..." I said
"Ohh this is so perfect! I can't believe you guys are gonna get married soon. I can't wait!" Elaine said excitedly
