Elaine's POV;

This dinner party was like huge. There were so many people and every one of them was some celebrity or some business related person. And it was a really high-class themed fancy type of party. I felt really left out considering I didn't know anyone here. Luckily, I found Mike and Kate, who were also invited as they were part of the company. It was kind of nice seeing two familiar faces, otherwise I don't know what I would've done.
All throughout dinner, people kept eyeing me up and down. It's like I was a showcase. I get it that they are doing this is because they are seeing Atlas's wife for the first time but don't they have anything better to do? Haven't they seen a human girl before?

After eating, everyone started talking to each other or were drinking champagne. I was at the table with Mike and Kate while Atlas was somewhere talking to someone. I tried looking for him but I gave up after a few minutes.

"This is kind of boring." Kate said

"I know, right?" I replied as we both looked at Mike who was busy using his phone

"Hey. What are you doing?" Kate asked him

"Just a minute." He replied as it looked like he was reading something

"Stop using your phone or I'm gonna break it." Kate said with a bit of force as she glared at him

Mike immediately stopped using his phone and puts it back in his pocket. This made me laugh a bit.
"I'm impressed. You totally have him under your control." I said

"It's not like that. I just don't like it when he uses his phone when we are sitting in a gathering." Kate replied

"And I just care about my phone." Mike joked as he chuckled

"My glass is empty. I'm gonna go get myself some more." I said as I got up and went towards the bar. I ordered more Champaign and decided to drink it over there instead of heading back to my table. I again looked around for Atlas. Where was he? I can't see him anywhere. I was still thinking about things, about him and Trisha. Some part of me was saying that I'm over thinking while the other part of me was hoping that what I was thinking wasn't true.

As I finish drinking, I decide to head back to the table but when I look at our table, it's empty. Kate and Mike aren't there. I wonder where those two went. I turn my head to look around for them.

"Who are you looking for?" I heard someone say as I turn to find Atlas standing next to me

"What are you doing here?" I said. I was kind of happy to see him here.

"Why? Aren't you happy to see me?" He replied as he ordered a drink for himself

"I thought you were busy with your friends and those other people." I said

"I was but then I decided to check up on you, to see if you were lonely without me." He joked

"Yeah right. Why would I be lonely?" I said

"You looked pretty lonely to me." He said as he drinks his champagne

"I've told you. You need to get your eyes checked." I replied

"My eyes are fine." He said as I again felt people looking at us. What is up with people looking and pointing?

"Hey is it just me or people have stared at me all day?" I asked

"Why would they want to look at you?" Atlas said jokingly

"You are right. I am over thinking it. It's not like I'm pretty or anything." I said

"Wait, I didn't mean it like that. That's not true." He said softly as he suddenly grabs both of my hands

"Huh?" I said confusingly as he leaned in closer and whispered in my ear, "You are beautiful. You always are. And tonight you look amazing."
